You have some issues or an underlying agenda for which I'm not sure even you know what the heck they are.

you said:

WTF is it about orgers putting women on pedestals... harpin' on about the past...not allowing people to learn from their mistakes and move on?

People have offered their points of view about the specific case of a man (Mr. Brown) who pleaded guilty to felonious assault. Instead of making or stating a reasonably conherent opinion you've gone off-tangent. Yeah, I knew what you were going to say funkyandy, I'm not sure you can recall what you've said from post to post. confused Disconnect?

thank you exactly i dont know why people want to keep talking about this ok he did it he made a video apologizing for the incident he was given his trial sentence and thats it! some people just need to GET OVER IT and if people coutinue to talk about it then they would just be :beating a dead horse:

and plus the only reason why people keep talking about it is because hes young talented black boy and i empasize the word YOUNG and Rihanna is OK shes not gonna die shes got all that money and shit there are people in the world who are at war and die everyday from war starvation and political violence all over the world and we are worrying about ONE WOMAN when theres MILLONS of other women AND men who suffer from domestic abuse on a day to day basis from their mates/sposes and we are worried about ONE WOMAN

please disbelief

who said that people are only worried about one woman? How ridiculous. The discussion revolves around one woman because this thread is about her exclaim

So this is the approach? Let someone run buckwild until such time as they mature and become a man? We have jails and police for a reason.

So you have an agenda against feminism. Don't let that cloud your judgement when dealing with an ABUSER. Venus is right. A normal person making a mistake doesn't turn into a beast to the point that he's repeatedly punching and biting and doing all the shit he did to her. Some of the men who defend Chris Brown like he just jaywalked probably have issues in their lives that they are uncomfortable confronting.

But could you explain what you meant when you wrote men shouldn't apologize for being men and orgers should contact you for further info?

Btw, the word "feminism" is much too misused. Nowadays it has a negative connotation and people associate it with hatred towards men. It's unfortunate because what it's basically about is equality, women having the same rights as men. Without it we women would probably still have no right to vote. Mind you, it was just 80 years ago... disbelief

this is about Chris Brown WHO IS AN ABUSER. Is this a one off thing? Maybe. But I and others will tell you that the first time our abuse began very slightly and wasn't an all out slugfest like happened here. You and other men are dismissive of what happened and I have to wonder WHY. It really shouldn't take that much time to explain....

No Supa...you perceive me as being dismissive, when this is not the case at all...my posts are pretty thorough and clear...it's just that people are not agreeing with me ...this is their choice...

As people seem to be lumping all men together...all I meant is to suggest that men should be confident and unapologetic about their manhood if they are striving to be good men since we rarely hear about this on the media...men are constantly ridiculed as buffoons and incompetent etc...and the fact that just the notion that men should be proud of themselves has caused so much hysteria just demonstrates how far 'feminism' has succeeded...end of.

Now don't start nitpicking my comments and taking things out of context...this is directed at everyone...

Boy...I didn't even care much for the kid when I first posted...but when I saw SO MUCH HATE ON THE ORG...for him...I'll be damned if I'm not gonna provide some sort of balance...

One mistake...yes serious mistake...a full apology...his age...and y'all are happy to label him 'an abuser' for life...without even a chance to make amends to some orgers?...that's insanity...in your so-called christian country...when people have done way worse yet all your anger is directed at a kid not yet at full maturity?...beyond ridiculous...get over yourselves and your prejudices over this kid and see a bigger picture...if you can't manage to do this...well just hate away...but you're not gonna change my mind...and normally I leave pure hate alone.

Americans already got a bad reputation for being insular you know?...sheesh.

this goes without saying. We aren't discussing good men here.

So you are calling for moderation, yet you try and dead stop the conversation saying that women are just being emotional which is D-I-S-M-I-S-S-I-V-E.

This is the same as giving a holocaust denier his equal airtime in the name of being fair and balanced. Some things don't warrant defending.

lol He is legally an adult and many abusers begin abusing in their first relationships and carry that shit through many of their adult years. True we don't know if he'll develop a patern that lasts through his life but this is more than a little mistake as you like to put it. He assaulted a woman. His ass would be in jail if this was a stranger. It's THAT serious.

Your vision of society is that men just need the room and space to learn to be civilized with no consequences whatsoever. N - O exclaim young people make mistakes all the time but sometimes there has to be real consequences for our actions and this is one of them.

I wonder...if Chris grew up watching his mother get hit then maybe Rihanna grew up around similar violence. Sometimes people behave the way that they were taught.

As for this issue as it pertains to men and women in general. The abuser probably does so out of lack of control over his own emotions, low self-esteem, and wanting to blame the other person for what is lacking in his/her life. The person being abused probably allows the abuse for the same reasons: lack of control over their emotions, low-self esteem and blaming themselves for not being able to fix/help their abuser.

Now with Rihanna, people are always calling her stupid for going back to him since it's now been let out that he beat her ass before. Perhaps she loved Chris more than herself. I think it's more than just a woman digging a bad boy, it's about their ages and life experiences and for Rihanna, this was possibly her first real and adult relationship. I feel sorry for her. Chris has gotten on with his life and made a steal of a plea deal but I think poor Rihanna might just judge every future boyfriend by the standards of Chris because she herself has esteem and control issues. sad sad

They are both pitiful.

I don't know why...but that pastel baby blue cashmere crew neck and silk bow tie that Chris was wearing is disturbing.

Oh I get it! It's a subliminal message to convince the audience that he's just a baby boy who lost his way. I almost fell for it but the bow tie gave him away. It screams "IMO BEAT YO ASS!"

I am not being dismissive but neither am I willing to see someone throw him in jail and throw away the key.
He's a human being and by definition, less than perfect.
He's made mistakes.
You are acting as if this occurs in every relationship the man has been in.
I've been in a relationship that was abusive and another that was not but where I was still hit ONCE. The relationship lasted 14 years after that and it never happened again.
So no, I don't think once it happens it can only happen again. People do learn and grow . . . .
I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.
