As for the looking like a 'sensitive muslim' comment...nah that's no good, he has to have multiple piercings, tattoos, sporting a satanic pentagram...he's an 'abuser' so he's gotta look the part right? I am open about the fact that I am a survivor of domestic abuse. I encourage women to leave their abusers, better not to be with one in the first place, and for men to get some help as well. It aint about being perfect or high expectations. This is an epidemic in our society. It's handed down from one generation to the next. I'm all about breaking the cycle but not turning a blind eye to the guilty or the innocent. Supa, the fact that you've been through certain experiences makes it understandable why you are sensitive to this issue and rightly so. You'll probably know then, that this issue is not straightforward; why do women stay with abusive partners?...why do 99% of women seek out 'thug' or bad boy types...this is so common and widespread that it's beyond debate...so we don't need to go there...'good' men who provide stability are perceived as boring. Yes, women need to do a bit of self reflection, develop self respect and self worth...without bad mouthing men all the time. As quiet as it's kept, men are victims of domestic violence also, but of course this is not as high on society's list of concerns. Lesbian and gays also have definite issues concerning domestic abuse...www.broken-rainbow.org.uk ...for those who need this kind of support (UK based though). Men need a purpose...a goal and to live lives of integrity and dignity...women do also if they can pull themselves away from trivialities, women's magazines, Oprah and the negative aspects of feminism...and develop their own self worth and esteem, instead of having unreal expectations received from the mass media. Chris Brown on the other hand just needs time to grow up and fully mature and become a real man without being consigned to hell b4 the chance to do this. Yeah, some strange nitpicking going on around Chris on this site, resorting to his style of dress & stuff!...come on people...u didn't like Chris Brown before the incident did you?...for whatever reason. peace . . Because abusers tend not to learn but to abuse again and again. This is fact. Nobody is saying Women are perfect but in this case the very people who called for calm and stood in blind defense of men WERE WRONG! I'm still waiting for that apology from those who defended Chris Brown denying the very facts that were in their face. . [Edited 8/31/09 16:04pm] Unless Chris Brown is reading the posts here then, what's the point? Are we supposed to learn not to hit women from his example? Really?! And how is defending men now wrong? Because of the actions of ONE man?! I don't understand . . .. I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

No?...good job too because that would be a serious case of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. l8r . He hasn't abused since 1-He doesn't have a victim in front of him and 2-He got caught and is under public scrutiny. And it aint about writing him off in advance but he has WORK TO DO IN HIS LIFE to get at the root of whatever the goddamn hell compelled him to beat up a little girl. It aint fixed in the few months just because he hasn't abused again. I am suggesting that the men who defended Chris Brown, begging folks to be fair and impartial blah blah blah when you could SEE the facts of what he did to her, that they come into this thread and admit they were wrong about giving Chris Brown that pass. I bet if I searched the threads you were one of them so yes, apologize to me directly. God is watching you. How is asking for fairness and impartiality, defending what he did? That's not defending Chris, that's believing in innocent until guilty. But since it came from TMZ, no court is required I guess, just string him up . . . I don't want you to think like me. I guess the problem is coppin' pleas to diminish the judicial punishment and also claiming to the public he couldn't remember the incident doesn't sound like he is learning from it. However, the calls for people to move on doesn't SOUND like people are advocating that these abusers get the help they need to find the source of their anger and deal with it. Moving on isn't the blanket answer. Everyone involved needs to eventually do that but simply moving on without addressing the real problem is just sweeping things under the rug. And how will you ever know if he has addressed the 'real' problem and dealt with the issues in his life? How do you know he hasn't had any therapy or other treatment? Chris Brown is a piece of shit. I'm merely interested in what kind of "manual labor" this fool will have to perform. If he only get's to pick up trash on the highway then I hope somebody does a drive buy and throws a maxi pad box full of rocks at his fucked up head.

But anyway, nevermind publicly, the point of my comment was that he was not facing it personally either by copping a plea to the judge, buying his freedom, as if to say "I did nothing wrong here".

He's using the selective memory tactic. A stupid man’s report of what a clever man says can never be accurate, because he unconciously translates what he hears into something he can understand.

not sure how true it is but his wikipedia page says that his mother's boyfriend beat the crap out of his mother
so it is not surprising that he did the same to Rihanna because that is what he considers normal and if you know Larry King, you know he probably asked Chris if he remembers doing it a thousand times so it makes sense that they would include the only clip that looks like an obvious lie besides, this is nothing compared to what MJ did to little boys and it looks like tons of people suddenly forgot about that - so let us forgive Chris because he obviously did not know what he was doing

so it is not surprising that he did the same to Rihanna because that is what he considers normal Yes, it is surprising. He knows wrong from right, he knows hitting someone isn't a good thing. ??! Is this correct grammar? Did you mean to say this?...what's the 'black card?'.The 'race' card we've all heard of...which no one has pulled on this thread...but the black card?...what's that? japanrocks...you talk as if blogging and celebrity websites are positive alternatives 4 real human communication between people, replacing real intimacy...and wanting to live 4ever on the net rather than working hard to make some real contribution to your life...what are you, Mr.Smith from 'The Matrix?' Cinnie...not much of a reply to u as you're really just nitpicking now...you're taking back what u said and emphasising other points...it'll be tiresome taking your arguments apart and going back and forth with you...for you it'd be better to be emotional like DesireeNevermind, saying what u really feel...rather than you doing the typical dishonest female manipulative changearound...in your posts,l8r. Extreme hatred from DesireeNevermind above...can I just say to those interested in balance and not completely controlled by their emotions...many feminists and lesbians(and other manginas) will have a men=bad, women=good approach anyway, so best not to waste time engaging in 'debate' with them...it will lead to nowhere...especially if you're a man who actually likes being a man...a man who is happy with his role in life, his dignity and integrity, his level of testosterone, thank you very much...and is unapologetic about it...and who completely under/overstands the true nature of women...has a normal relationship with them and doesn't put them on pedestals whatsoever... peace folks . The discussions that were going on on this site after the picture of Rihanna leaked months ago were really scary and interesting to me.
Yes, Rihanna was stupid for, and I can only go after what I have read, letting jealousy and obsession take control of her. I'm not sure now what happend in the car, but I could go as far as saying that I can understand that it can happen - if Rihanna started to slap him or whatever and perhaps, since they were out on the road and things can get ugly if the driver loses control of the vehicle - that a frustrated Chris slaps back. But did he stop at that? No, he beat her up, repeatedly punching her face and smashing her head against the window. A person losing his mind like that is not a normal teenager that made a mistake but a person with serious issues, a person that needs help but also needs to know that there's no excuse for such behaviour. Note that I used the word "person" instead of "man" since no one should act like that. Stop with the "oh he made mistake, but Rihanna started and it's her fault as much as his, it's just because he's a man...".... . [Edited 9/2/09 2:12am]

That's great VenusBlingBling...see, yours is an example of a more balanced and intelligent post...despite your feelings.
I'd say Chris was more than frustrated...yes he went further...the nature of anger is ever increasing I guess, reaches its climax...then afterwards, things calm down...then all of the repercussions... See, to me...it's not 'manly' to hit 'a woman'...but of course the feminists view is that we're 'all the same', gender shouldn't matter. Chris was simply wrong for doing what he did...he reacted to whatever came out of Rihanna's mouth...in time when he matures and becomes a man, he'll have a more balanced, realistic and down to earth interaction with women...and won't have to react to everything that comes out of their mouths... I wish u heaven .

I hope so! But chances are he'll do it again and again. I don't think it has to with his age and experiences as much as the kind of person he is/has become. But we'll see, he may very well take the right path and only look back at this experience with regret.

(Doing it again and again) I personally don't like to rely on chance...rather knowledge and reflection. You don't think age and lack of full maturity has anything to do with his behaviour regarding the incident?! The person he has 'become' is now permanently fixed at the age he is, you reckon?...lol...come on Venus...! I teach 18-21 year olds and the rate of change in their personalities is literally by the day...so quickly. I'm still not getting this vitriol aimed at Chris Brown (I mean, you just have to read DesireeNevermind on here!...all you others are just more subtle with it)...as opposed to other people out there, murderers etc, child rapists...are you all just like hypnotised by the mass media's portrayal of things?...again... apart from the incident what is it about CB that u don't like?...not including his dress sense...(yawn) He has already demonstrated regret...so why do some still want a 'pound of flesh?' Hey! This is to 'WaterInYourBath'...Sir!...thanks for the primer on 'logical thinking'...always good to be reminded rather than being instructed...
