I love it! The production is mediocre though. Probably would've been better if R. produced it.

He did produce it lol

It was driving me nuts but she does sing "That's when love is WORTH IT". It just seems so odd to have these "For The Lovers" type songs back to back. And it hardly sounds like a "dark horse" ballad. I'm just nutty. I got to admit I like it as a fun pop album although it's never silly or too campy (a bit campy though with "Song For You"....I was a expecting a super soapy ballad).

I listened to it several times through today on random play: I LOVED IT! Particularly, "Salute" and "A Song For You". I used to be a stoned-cold Whitney hater, right along side of VainAndy - so for me, it's a big deal that I like this CD. I think the songs were innovative & fresh, and yet; classic Whitney at the same time. I think over time this CD will do well.

Whitney Houston rocks a trench coat and the crowd Tuesday during a show taped at Rumsey Playfield in Central Park (and scheduled to air Wednesday on Good Morning America). The singer, who just released her sixth album I Look to You, performed new songs including "Million Dollar Bill" and favorites like "I'm Every Woman." (Credit: People.com)

The background singers helped bolster her diminished vocal power. Here's a clip from the four-song set.

Tricky Stewart co-produced it. It sounds more like his production (Cheap shit!). That's why I said if R. produced it it would be 100x better!

that threw me off as well. i kept thinking track 9 was an uptempo version or part 2 of track 8. lol. however "For The Lovers" is my favourite off the album. i'm enjoying it more with each listen. good for Whitney!

I got the album and I like it. She needs a slammin video for #9. Visuals always help a song....I'm pondering why one has not been made yet.
As far as the GMA show....she looked great and the energy was there....even you could see she was nervous as hell....the voice well come on people that will take time and I'm praying to God that it comes back to where her tone is comfortable for her. I don't think it will ever be the boom we heard in the late 80's & 90's. From the look of the crowd no one gave a fuck about her voice...did you see the people!!??? OLD/Young/Mixed Races....it was awesome to see the support and she had to be humbled for just that alone!
I'm enjoying watching her comeback...it's a good feeling I have for Whitney inside....I was sooo perplexed why she took the route that she did but that is in the past now...she has to live with those demons...not us....."So put your hands up"! and enjoy!

Whitney Debuts At No.1

September 9

Like a true diva, Whitney Houston returns to the Billboard 200 in grand style. "I Look To You" becomes Houston's fourth No. 1 album on the chart, debuting with 305,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan

It's by far Houston's best opening sales week since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking data in 1991. Her previous best opening week since that year came when 2002's "Just Whitney" bowed at No. 9 in the thick of the Christmas holiday shopping season with 205,000.

"I Look To You" is also the singer's first chart-topper since the Houston-fueled "The Bodyguard" soundtrack spent 20 weeks at No. 1 in 1993. "Look" and "Bodyguard" are joined by Houston's two previous toppers: her self-titled set in 1986, and her 1987 sophomore set, "Whitney." The latter was also the first album from a woman to debut at No. 1, which it did did on the Billboard 200 chart dated June 27, 1987.
