I posted the proof of Madonna's shitness only because graecophilos is bashing Cyndi purely because I dissed Madonna. It's the same CHILDISH nonsense SoulAlive was doing last year about Cyndi. Posting sarky comments, not because he even disliked Cyndi, but simply because I like her. At least when I diss Madonna you know I'm being sincere about it. When these guys post negative comments about Cyndi they're only doing it because it's me that's praising her. I came on to this thread to read about and see some Cyndi before and by post, what, 4? it's a Madonna thread already. but I wasn't surprised that it was you who brought her into it. so again, congratulations on ruining your own thread. I wondered earlier whether you were just being obtuse or dishonest. I'm pretty sure now it's both. I've done loads of Cyndi threads before and Graecophilos has never appeared in any of them. He's never once shown any interest in her. So why's he suddenly shown up posting insults? Obviously it's because of that Madonna sticky in which I told the truth about her and was greeted with a chorus of Cyndi Lauper related comments from the gay mafia. It was THEY who dragged Cyndi into that and tried repeatedly to get me to talk about her, even though I made clear she had nothing to do with it. Now, all of a sudden graecophilos (who argued with me and insulted me on that thread) suddenly decides he's interested in Cyndi bashing. If you are HONEST you will admit that his presence is an extension of that argument. So it was NOT ME who bought Madonna into it. I was just the one who pinpointed what was implicit in his post anyway. Dude, last year you posted a series of negative comments about Cyndi and you only stopped doing it once her album had safely flopped which meant you didn't need to bother anymore, and now you are LYING about it. Let me see if I can refresh your memory here. You said things like.... "She hasn't got a career anymore", "She hasn't had a hit since the Reagan administration", "Her album is dead on arrival", etc. You even started a thread (which no-one responded to) saying how you'd heard snippets of her new album and it sounded "cheap and anonymous". On another thread, someone posted something about Cyndi being hard to work with in the studio, and you highlighted it and posted an emoticon specifically to draw attention to it. Is any of this ringing any bells? You've already told quite a few bare faced lies in this thread. It's tragic how ignored Cyndi's talent has been overall.
She's not only continued to release good solid music, but is one of the artists from the 80's who has retained her vocal abilities and stage presence. A real shame. I will always be a fan. | |

She is the ONLY artist from that era who I can say hasn't declined one bit since her youth. She's actually better now than she was then. Even on that "When You Were Mine" clip where she's got the guitar strapped round her neck, just look at the last verse where she starts holding her head while belting out the lyrics. Who else can express that kind of passion today? No-one. Whenever anyone else tries to do it (like Mary J.
