Lionels only contribution was the melody for the words "We are the world, we are the children" and that was it. Thanks for the picture, bboy. I adore all the pictures of Mike with his kids. You can feel their love just looking at the pictures. Here are two more: paris look like a fat little baby doll version of debbie. but cute

I always talk about that but only because after I watched it I was so stunned at how Stevie was the one to stand up and take control while Q just watched on. Quincy is a C.U.N.T Not to mention Stevie Wonder. Ever seen the whole We Are The World DVD? Stevie is doing way more producing and directing than Quincy and he's only really credited as a vocalist. Michael wrote the whole song practically, but Lionel and Stevie seemed to do most of the work during the recording. I am still waiting for Quincy to claim he tought MJ how to sing and dance and that he was the one performing on the Bad Tour with a wig.
The cunt wont be happy until his fugly ass is on the cover of thriller wearing the white suite with the fucking baby tiger on his lap yay now i feel much better. i dont understand how people keep saying we shouldnt curse. its so theurapatic I'm always amazed how he talks about his own talents in composition when talking about his Pop recordings, when I can't think of many well known songs he's had a written contribution to. I'm amazed that The Dude album is a "Quincy Jones" album when he didn't sing on or write any of the songs. He's a producer and a musical arranger, but what makes him so special that he gets entire albums credited to him and him only? Should George Martin stand up and try and put his mug on The Beatles' records?

I wonder if Stevie gets pissed about Quincy Jones if this is the case of him actually helping out with the track because it does seem like Stevie took control for some of the recording. I think Stevie sung the most lyrics out of anybody on that song. He, Ray Charles and Bruce Springsteen.

Apparently Quincy is a Musical Community Organizer instead of a heavy duty Producer. (Google Chuck Rainey and look up his his comments on Q as well as Nat Adderly.) that's what I've heard My friend Mistermaxx told me about Rod, Michael, Greg Philliganes, and The Johnsons did most of the work on Off The Wall along with Thriller and Bad. He told me Michael and Greg once said that Quincy didn't have any funk [Edited 9/16/09 16:42pm] "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. I am not sure if Quincy had anything to do with Mike being in trouble or not. I am starting to loose my respect for him because I don´t like the way he speaks about him. Not only did he say Mike did not want to be black, but allegedly, he has also said recently that Mike was not all that talented while he kept saying he was one of the most talented people he´s ever worked with when he was alive. That´s not what I call a genuine friend. When did he he say MJ wasn't all that talented?....The revisionist history is crazy....

I love Q, he's a hometown boy and I've studied him, even went through the trouble of sneaking into a commencement speech he gave. But, he's really showing his true feelings, it's pissing us off and making him look very, very bad. Why not say these things when he was alive? He said nothing but positive things or, "me an michael aren't joined at the hip" sounding like he had no problem with him using other producers. The day after the man dies he's saying "well, he said to Frank Dileo that 'I think Quincy is losing it, he doesn't know rap is dead' rap was just getting started". And, "He was paying these guys five times what he paid me". As even the most casual fans have said online "you have failed your job as a mentor". And these were people who weren't even Michael nuts, just random responses to his interviews.

The best example is "Speed Demon" where MJ breaks it down with the grit and Q adds the horn and string "counter" lines against it. I think Q's funk is mainly in his fingers. BUT I respect his success. "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page

Wasn't Frank and Ray trying to teach Quincy anyways?

let's not get to carried away with the Q bashing. Sure he said some stupid fucking shit of late and needs a slap for that. but u know the cat is real old now and prolly just a few marbles are running loose up in that noggin.
His talent remains undisputed. don't forget his long and destinguised career before Mike, and some of his killer albums, film scores and big band prodcutions. he for sure made a huge contribution as (co)producer with Mike, assembling musicians, helping select tracks, tracking the album, co-writing a track, and running the floor. getting the best performances and getting mike to open up songwriting wise. ain't no little deal what he did on those albums. And rod and the bros. johnson has no input on bad (LMAO at that)

no doubt some of his remarks after Mike's death were out of order. it would be good to see/hear him address that at some point

Any supposedly close associate of a person who defames him or her immediately upon their demise is nothing more than a grade-A asshole and a coward. Fuck Quincy.

Obviously getting old has affected his brain, I mean, I know that mj was not perfect but so every human being, but for Quincy to say what he said after his death is pretty much pathetic. Changing the subject real quick, am I the only one that thinks the outfits MJ had for "This Is It" were horrible? He was better off wearing one outfit all the way through with maybe 2 or 3 changes (i.e Victory and Bad tour)

You're not the only one. When I look back at the Human Nature rehearsal, I see those orange skinny jeans and that HUGE gold jacket. My goodness what the FUCK were the stylists thinking? [Edited 9/16/09 18:51pm]

fair chances are that what little we've seen so far from rehersals would have not what would have been used in the actual shows. more or less he's just wearing a shirt or jacket over his regular clothes in those clips. and besides a costume change is a good excuse to take a breather between numbers!

You mean to tell me that y'all weren't tired of looking at him in short pants, white socks and shiny loafers? That look was so passé, along with those recycled moves from the History tour. [Edited 9/16/09 19:02pm]

If it was up to me, for tunes without explicit costumes (i.e. the shit from the videos and billie jean) he'd just wear plain pants and a shirt - leave all that other bullshit on the rack

those were rehearsals clothes, they have nothing to do with the colthes that he was going to wear at the actual concert. MICHAEL JACKSON
