Hell yeah i feel you.. plus these new morticians be jacking people up... I remember as a kid people use to look like themselves..I don't know what they be doing these days.. but as soon as i see the casket my chest get all tight ( a dude can't breathe and shit) When i saw James Brown at the Apollo (ole Al Sharptin) new exactly what i was thinking...I was like why the fuck did i come here....James look liked he was shalacked (not sure if i spelled that right)

James looked like a skeleton. sad I was like "oh no..." it took me listening to his music to rub off the memory of seeing his sad face. And Al Sharpton all like "LOOK AT HIM, HE'S THE REASON THAT YOU'RE PROUD TO BE BLACK!" I'm like "Al, now's not the time to do that". disbelief

All i remember about James is those damn shiny silver boots pointing East and West.. I'm sooooo glad they didn't put Mike on display

That's the greatest thing the Jacksons did. I'm so GLAD they did that!

End of an era, really. Everyone has an opinion on him, and in a sad way, that was half of the great thing about him.

I've been waiting for a new album forever, especially since he gave that Access Hollywood interview back in 06. Never imagined he'd be gone before said album came out. And damn, was I looking forward to these concerts. I thought we'd be seeing those little 5 second clips of him dancing when the news talked about him making his return to the stage.

What sucks is that lots of people said "These concerts will never happen". I figured there was that slight chance he'd cancel... it just wasn't his style for things to go off without a hitch. And, sadly, the people who doubted the concerts were right.

Hopefully this upcoming movie gives us some glimpses into his genius. I just hope it wasn't a HIStory tour all over again. The clip they've showed on the news is pretty much the same version of "They Don't Care About Us" he did during the HIStory tour.

But the guitar was off the chain!

It looked part-Dangerous and part-HIStory because they were bringing back "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" but it looked mostly like HIStory the way people were talking.

My first concert ever was the Jackson 5's first tour in 1971, then 73, then in Las Vegas, then the Destiny tour in 78 & 79, then the Triumph Tour in 1981, which in my opinion, is where The Jacksons crystallized as the performing legends the are, then Victory, Bad, right up until The History Tour in Hawaii. MJ & Co. flew me out for that one. For me, all the concerts were a continuation of the tour from 1971. If I had to break it off, I would say that The Triumph Tour was the blueprint for all of Michael's tours to follow. I had planned on heading to London to live for a month to see how many of the "This Is It" concerts I could catch. I knew some of his friends over there, and I thought my concert ratio might be pretty high.

Copycat

I declared a personal moratorium on CNN's continuing coverage of Michael Jackson's burial. The reporters outside the gates and the helicopter overhead were excessive and way over the top.

The same Quincy who said in an interview less than one week after MJ's passing that he, and I quote, "obviously, didn't want to be Black?" What a friend.

I mean I used to play in the cemetery as a kid ,but something about those wrought iron gates and the full moon was very spooky. I'd be flying out of there after the service !no lurking around having cordial conversation no no no!

Nah Timmy... I can see how the reports about the sevice can come off like that but you had to see it...it really was a beautiful service

I know, this is just my way of looking at it. I'd probably be okay with seeing it much later or maybe not. shrug

The memorial was very well done, I thought. I didn't know what to expect but I was glad that it was so well handled. I thought Usher, although he was upset, it didn't sit right with me when he walked over and touched Michael's casket, while he was singing. I understood the sentiment but,..u had Mr. Gordy, Smokey, Stevie, even Michael's own brother Jermaine all speaking and singing about Michael. None of them got up on the casket like Usher did. In THAT setting at The Staples Center, with all of the fans there and everyone else, Usher doing that just didn't come off right, to me. Michael..., it was different when Michael kissed James at James's funeral. One, it was an open casket and Michael wasn't singing to James. So it was so much MORE natural for Michael to lean down and kiss James. To me, that's how it seemed. Now when Usher went over to Katherine and knelt down to her, I thought that was moving. It was obvious the cat was very moved.

I'm glad that Lisa Marie attended the funeral. I had wished that she had attended the memorial. As far as Diana,...nah man. Besides the fact that she didn't show to NEITHER, she put it out BOTH times that she was going. The news media had reported earlier in the afternoon out here in L.A. that Diana was INDEED going to the funeral. Then nope, just like at the memorial, she pulled a no show. I'm like, if you're NOT going to show, then WHY say that you're going to show? Her not attending the memorial, I thought was wrong. She was slated to speak. Smokey ended up speaking in her place at the last minute and next to Marlon, Smokey's speech was one of the most moving. But then she puts it out that she will attend the funeral and again she doesn't show? Once, o.k. maybe something happened to her at the last minute. But TWICE?.... For her to NOT attend either one, and as heavily linked she and Michael had been for so much of Micahel's life and career....Michael naming her in his will?....I feel for Michael's kids...Paris seems the strongest out of the three. Prince always has that glazed, far away look in his eyes like this hurts him and he doesn't want to be there and that he wishes that this wasn't happening for anything in the world. And poor Prince Michael II,..he's still just a baby really. For the first time, I saw Joe breakdown at the funeral. I could see in interviews with Joe dealing with the fact that Michael's death, he felt was a homicide. I could see then that Joe was hurt. It started to show more then.

The picture of Katherine sad sad sad sad sad sad

It was good to see Tatiana there...she's aged well as far as Diana,There must be issues we as outsiders have no idea about if anything she knows how Michael felt about her in life to put her in his will,This speaks volumes to all those positioning themselves as true "friends" only Diana can at some point comment in the future. I just viewed her with her kids minus Rhonda at a recent birthday party for her son Evan ( Michael Jackson Theme) so life is going on for her.
