80's boogie on Jam-Power/KMA Records (Chill/CJ Anthony/Gift Of Dreams/Julian Flenoy/Kopper/Thunderflash/West Coast Crew) Jam-Power started in the early 80's with representing the artists Gift Of Dreams, Lemon Lime, Mainline and Thunderflash. On their sublabel KMA, they had the groups West Coast Crew, Chill (with Chuckii Booker as co-producer/musican) and singers CJ Anthony, Julian Flenoy + Kopper. Chuckii co-worked also with CJ Anthony and Kopper. All recorded/released before Chuckii's official debut-album. Chill released their second album "Cold Fresh Groove" on EMI-Capitol's sublabel Orpheus. "...K.M.A. Records, which stands for "Kiss my Ass Records" was founded 1985 by R. Vann and M. Rochelle which already run Jam Power Records. The first release West Coast Crew "We are the crew" is typical for the mid 80´s Rap. An uptempo song with vocoder and 808 Beats. Followed by several 12inch records like "D.O.A.", "Put the Pipe Down" and "Jailbait" the West Coast Crew released their album "In the Mix" in 1985. Other famous releases on the K.M.A. label are "Velocity", "Time to say goodbye" and "Purple Passion" by Kopper. After only two years in business the label disappeared in 1986..." http://www.westcoastpione...s/kma.html http://hiphoponwax.blogsp...-game.html http://www.imeem.com/fuze...out-remix/ [Edited 8/29/09 7:06am]

Yeah, my jaw dropped when i saw that there was a video for that track. Man, that single and their album "Chill Out" on which it was released have always been heavy imports.
I'm not even shure if "911" reached any charts back then, so cool that their label could afford to finance for a video lol. Wonder if it ever aired on any tv station back then.
