Album of the Day: "Bad Girls" by Donna Summer This is probably one of my favorite albums of all time. It's the perfect album to play in it's entirety on a Friday so pull it out and throwdown!

The underrated gem on this album is "One Night In A Lifetime" Buried in the middle of Side Two,it got overshadowed by the big hits. It's a superb song....very melodic with a nice saxophone hook.

The beat of Blue Monday by New Order is a rip-off of Our Love.

"Journey to the center of your heart" is one of my alltime favorite songs from her.

It's one of my favs as well, vain. This album showed the true depth of Donna and how comfortable she was with the rock oriented material on this album. Donna has said that the rockier based material was actually recorded a few years earlier and she wanted it released then. But Neil Bogart wasn't as comfortable on going in that direction then so held on to it. Thank God it came out on this album. Donna was already popular as candy before this release and then she became even bigger after this. Donna was super HOT! [Edited 8/28/09 13:12pm] SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

I just saw Donna Summer last night in Brooklyn and she was absolutely amazing. I was just amazed at how incredible she sounded and looked. She played quite a few songs from this album and they were HOT! Beyonce wishes she could even be a quarter as good as Donna. I would go see her again because she is truly The Queen.
Bad Girls is one of my favorite albums. It's in my top 5 favorite albums period. There's not one bad song on that CD. I would've prefered that there weren't any ballads but the ballads are great too and still find a way to be cohesive with the rest of the album. It's hard to pick a favorite song on there but I would go with the song "Bad Girls" with "Love Will Always Find You" being a very close second (sometimes it is my favorite) but again I love them all. Great thread vainandy! I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Yes Andy! A perfect album from start to finish! They don't make albums like this anymore that are cohesive and read like a book. It was a treat to hear her do a side of ballads and really show off her range and her songwriting skills! If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in!

Except for the Side OMG, 30 years already!?!?! For years, the only slow song I liked was "On My Honor". In the last two or three years, I've gone back and listened to Side 3 and have come to love all of them. Andy is a four letter word.

Unfortunately, if she came to my area, she would probably have to play one of the casinos because I don't think too many of these dead asses down here would go to see her. On Side 3,I like the songs "On My Honor" and "All Through The Night" And on "My Baby Understands" (look closely at the liner notes...she co-produces it with someone besides Giorgio and Pete), she does a great Joplin-esque song. The album from start to finish is amazing. It's only flaw is an unfortunate sound in "Lucky" (you know the one). What was Moroder thinking!
