Gosh, this woman is really flopping!

The latest spin through her PR team is that "Obesessed" really wasn't a single.

I'm not really feeling "Obsessed" and normally I adore her singles.

i'm loving "obsessed". nothing great but it grew on me. i've never seen Mariah live; she cancels, or is sick, or i hear about her being on stage for only 40 minutes. lol. i got her last tour on dvd as a gift and watched it once. despite how good of a vocalist she is, she's never been known for her tours...if she tours at all. if the article is true, i think in part, people have gotten tired of her "act". i'm happy enough with just having her cds.

I have no clue why people think Obsessed is a flop. Is it because it didn't hit #1? It's about to go Top 10 on the Hot 100 Airplay and is Top 20 on the digital chart. Sounds like a hit to me.

In order to do residency though, the act has do be out there on a press junket hawking that schitt. When other people do Vegas stints they bombard you with pr for it, do all sorts of cross promotional packages with it. What's up with her marketing people? The semi-single or whatever you want to call it came out, and I know alot of luxury goods vendors are doing cross promotions inside her cd. As much as I get tired of looking at them, maybe Mariah's camp should've have taken a note from the Team Knowles manual of guerilla advertising. The single is the lead in, I guess. But as soon as the buzz picks up for her movie, perfume needs to be launched, the record needs to be dropped, there needs to be two videos released within a month, and she has to do Ellen, Oprah, Rachel Ray, Regis & Kelly,the View, Late Night, TV One, all the morning drive R&B radio shows, make a guest appearance as herself on a sitcom, do a bunch of charity appearances and have some cheesy meet & greet contests for her fans.

Really did not like Obsessed too much. Seemed too immature for her stature right now. I may know all the words to it now just because I am a Mariah fan and I heard it enough to easily memorize it...however from her legacy and the music she CAN put out just overrides my judgement to the tune.

However it is a top 20 hit, just because Mariah doesnt go #1 people are going to say it flopped. It just not good enough for her standards.

You guys should go to Ticketmaster and look up the ticket prices. Might give you some insight as to why tickets are moving slowly.

The tickets for this thing are $130 for the cheapest & $280 for the good ones. When I looked for curiosity I pulled a sec 203 row N for $179 + fees about 30 rows from the stage. Maybe it's just me but I wouldn't pay that for a mediocre seat to see anything, especially in this economy. If she did a regular tour with tickets at $40-80 I'm sure she'd do just fine.

If you think about it, it's probably due to the "beef" with Eminem. I don't think it's that the song is a "hit" or "flop" at this point. This song will fade like so many songs have in the past that were based on a "beef" with someone.

well it appears finally the public has notice she is a smoke & mirrors hack! She has lip synced for a decade! We all heard her on the MJ memorial and sounding like shit. Then on Americas got Talent and she was yes Lip Syncing!

Very cool she is flopping!

She didn't lip sync on MTV unplugged all those years ago and doesn't do so in her concerts, at least not from what I'm hearing.
