lol She looks stoned. Which is appropriate, because she sounds stoned on the track.

Just on a side note here, does anyone feel that the only way now she can pull off a ballad is go with someone elses classic? I mean she has been doing this on and off throughout her career with "without you, open arms, bringin on the heartbreak etc" but with the exception of maybe "my all" when was the last BALLAD (not mid tempo) that she was able to pull off mainstream? I think this is a real showing of how she needs a "walter" in her life again

I like it, much better than Obsessed and all that hip-hop BS she's put on in recent times.

Even if its a cover, its more listenable than other stuff she's put out recently.

well the fact is that her singles from the last cd all did poorly with the exception of the lead single which was hideous but sold. Sales aside i just think the main strength that she had, is gone and its reflecting in her ability to nail a good ballad without it being someone elses song. Its almost like she doesnt remember how to write a ballad

but songs like petals/circles/fly like a bird/i wish you well are all post walter and are all proof that she still can craft a good ballad. it's not an issue of capabilities, it's just that as she's mentioned multiple times herself, she's grown tired of building entire records around ballads.

but i'd say the problem is that even though she's lessened the number of ballads per release now, but she's also lessened the amount of the fun uptempo stuff with it and replaced it with way too much midtempos, which isn't exactly too far off from what she was trying to avoid in the 1st place. she just needs to know how to find that good balance between all those styles.
