The song had potential to be a hit had it not been for WB's dumb ass
Love love looooove the song,,,,if there's the best display of a duet between an angel & a demon, that would be it

Was it Warners or Motown who refused to let this song become a single? I hate it when record company politics prevent a song from being a single.

Both,,,WB more strongly though(according to Rick's book). Its a pattern to them, they fucked up her chance to sing "Don't Look Any Further" with Dennis Edwards and didn't include her in the video/credit for her duet with Robert Palmer(If I'm not mistaken). Warner showed complete lack of imagination when it comes to black artists, its no wonder why she still holds deep resentment against them.

Great duet. | |

One of the worst tracks on that album. Some great stuff on there though, such as "Best In The West" and "So Not To Worry".

Loved this the first time I heard it.
I thought it was a great combination. (I'd heard that they had recorded it before its release.) One of the few Rick James songs in my collection. I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

That's a shame.I know that this song would have been a Number One R&B hit.Our local R&B station played it like crazy and the response was great.

And to make matters worse, in the late 80s, all those damn rappers started sampling that song so it just lived on and on and refused to go away. Andy is a four letter word.

I thought she was in the video for Steve Winwood's 'Higher Love?' Robert Palmer's "Addicted To Love" was originally recorded as a duet with Chaka. Warner Brothers refused to have this version released on Robert's album because they felt it would interfer with the promotion of her album "Destiny", which, they didn't even bother to promote. The duet with Robert is currently sitting in the vaults collecting dust. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

Wow,Warners really screwed things up for Chaka,on more than one occasion She has an excellent unreleased album from 1995 called 'Dare You To Love Me' that Warners refused to release.I can see why she was so eager to leave this label.
