Rose Royce VS Phyllis Hyman We were trying to download this song "Love don't live here anymore". A friend of mine thought it was Staci Lattisaw, I thought it was Phyllis Hyman. Turns out we were both wrong it was...
Rose Royce... Rose Royce - Love don't live here anymore 1978 Phyllis Hyman Living all Alone Okay so who is sampling who because they sure sound alike to me! Which song sounds better? A stupid man’s report of what a clever man says can never be accurate, because he unconciously translates what he hears into something he can understand.

R&B... I'm sorry But these "this Vs that" threads today are driving me off the wall. OK..... While I prefer Phyllis Hyman much MORE as an artists than Rose Royce, I would pick "Love don't live here" for the strength of its writer, Norman Whitfield. I love the Mary J Blige/Faith Evans duet/remake of the Rose Royce song, bring me to tears everytime

Harlepolis said: Co-sign. Not trying to be rude, but come on, anybody who follow Phyllis Hyman or Stacy Lattisaw would KNOW that that wasn't either of 'em. I was first reminded of this song around the age of 10. Yes I heard this BEFORE Madonna's, Faith/Mary Jr.'s and even the Gangsta Boo version. The original kicks some major ASS!

I saw Rose Royce in concert many years ago,and before they launched into "Love Don't Live Here Anymore",they mentioned that this song has been recorded by several other artists,"including Madonna!" They seemed quite proud.

Rose Royce... Rose Royce - Love don't live here anymore 1978 Phyllis Hyman Living all Alone Okay so who is sampling who because they sure sound alike to me! Which song sounds better? Wasn't Rose Royce out in the 70s (Car Wash) era? And Phyllis Hyman Living all Alone was in the late 80s well after Rose Royce Love Don't Live Here Anymore. I love both songs. I prefer Ms Hyman style better. She consistently put out music that I loved to hear. Rose Royce is a different artist... some RB/funk, and some ballads. Not comparing apples to apples. And for those who prefer MJ Blige remaking any of the big RB hits of the 70s and 80s When I hear the opening notes of "Sweet Thing" I want to hear Ms Khan clearing her throat... not Mary J. Blige! I would have to pick Phyllis. Though, I think this is a bad pairing of artists to compare. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

This is, like, a joke, right? "Love Don't Live Here" and "Living All Alone" don't even remotely resemble one another in any way, shape or form. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley
