I like the entire album except Privacy, I just don't like it. The album is better than anything released in the past few years, its worth the buy.[/quote] Agreed, that's the only one that bugs me, maybe it's coz MICHAEL seemed to be coming back as MICHAEL and not "angry" Michael, "HEAVEN CAN WAIT" is so Off The Wall, "Privacy" was "angry" Michael.

Exactly. The ballads/slow jams are great."Heaven Can Wait","Butterflies" and "Break Of Dawn" are top-notch songs."Whatever Happens" had 'Top 10 hit' written all over it.I also like "Speechless" and "Cry". If only he had found some outstanding uptempo tracks to go along with the slower songs,he would have had a brilliant album.Rodney Jerkins is a good producer for other artists but he wasn't the ideal producer for Michael.I think Pharrell might have done a better job with the uptempo material (Justin Timberlake's "Rock Your Body",produced by the Neptunes and originally offered to MJ first,is exactly the type of cool uptempo jam that this album needed).

Are you a very big fan though? For some reason I noticed casual fans seem to like this album better than the hardcores. Its just not a Michael Jackson Quality album to me

But it is something I've noticed a bit

Well, if you're into R&B ballads I would def. cope this album but if you prefer MJ dance tracks (Dangerous-esque) than I wouldn't. All the dance tracks are f--king horrible! And I'm saying that in the nicest way possible! The highlight is the ballads. Break of Dawn, Heaven Can Wait and Butterflies are all show MJ's vocal talent. To me this whole didn't feel like an MJ album. It was just him trying to rehash past glories. Many of the tracks are reminiscent of his previous work. Cry, lovely song written and produced by R.Kelly but once it ends MJ mumbles "Change the world"

because it only sold about 13 million instead of 110 million That's pretty much it. Even more surprising when you figure that outside of heavy urban markets (big cities), the album got very little airplay (I only heard You Rock My World on the radio ONCE as part of a radio megamix) and there was only one music video. The album got very little promotion. I know that Sony spent a lot of money making the album, but that really isn't an excuse for not promoting it afterwards. Jackson and Sony just didn't get along, I don't think it was either side's fault, but I do think they should have allowed Unbreakable to be the lead single. If that's what Jackson wanted, that's what should have happened. None of his lead singles have ever really been the most R&B or jazzy except for Off The Wall (The Girl Is Mine, I Just Can't Stop Loving You and Black or White were all the lead singles... not the most R&B-ish tracks on his albums).

I think that song is okay but Michael needed stronger uptempo songs for this album.I remember in the fall of 2001,Jamiroquai released their album 'A Funk Odyssey' a few weeks before 'Invincible'.I was much more impressed with the Jamiroquai album. The uptempo tracks are exactly the type of grooves that Michael needed! Funky, retro disco/funk jams without a trace of shit hop. Exactly. Andy is a four letter word.
