I've been meaning to get the Aletti book for a while now. I keep forgetting (c) Michael McDonald.

I'm less intrigued by Casablanca. Their sound comes off as more pop/showbizzy compared to stuff like Salsoul, TK and other labels. I always imagine a bunch of femme white queens being their biggest market.

They get eternal props for Parliament though.

I wish there was a book about SalSoul Records.I'd love to read the history of that label.

Casablanca was much more diverse than it appeared to be.Although they were known primarily as a "disco label",they had artists and bands from every genre: KISS (hard rock),Cameo (R&B/funk),Hugh Masekela (jazz),And like you mentioned, they had Parliament.

Would also love a book about TK Records.
