B-Sides Rank

Has to Be
Supernatural
Ain't No Big Deal
Fighting Spirit
Super Pop
Let Down Your Guard
Your Honesty* (does this count?)
History
Cyber-raga

How does everyone else rank them? smile
[Edited 9/10/09 17:49pm]

Into the Groove is a bside.

I would count "Into the Groove" because it technically counts (wasn't really a double A-side) but NOT "Your Honesty" (from an EP...hell if it counts, so does "Up Down Suite") or "Super Pop" (a download) or "Fighting Spirit" (bonus track from a special edition).

"Into The Groove"
"Supernatural"
"Let Down Your Guard"
"Has To Be"
"History"
"Cyber-raga"
"Ain't no Big Deal" (terrible version that was released as a b-side)

It just seems she's not as involved in the writing as she used to be.A lot of the HC songs were demos done by Timbaland and she just changed a few parts.

Incorrect, there's no evidence that the Timbaland songs were done like that (especially since the last 2 songs on HC came from demos by Madonna herself), you probably refer to "Heartbeat" & "Spanish Lesson" having the Pharrell vocal demonstration but there's no proof they were written before Madonna's involvement.

Exactly.A few songs on 'Hard Candy' are about her marital problems ("Miles Away","Incredible") so it's obvious that she was heavily involved in the lyrics. The last two tracks ("Devil" and "Voices"),she wrote the lyrics and recorded the demos a few years earlier.Timbaland just added his own music to these songs.

"Into The Groove" is her best selling UK single, it cannot be classified as a B-side only because the US did not have a commercial single of it. Just because it was on "Angel" 12", it was still promoted on its own with a video etc.

hmmm This song is no masterpiece, but I think it's much better than "Celebration".It has a stronger chorus/hook,and could easily be a hit in America (if it's released a single with proper promotion).

It's okay.. reminds me of "Womanizer" rhythmically. Definetely will fare better in the U.S.

Her vocals.. confused The processing makes her sound lazy. lol

I love "Let Down Your Gaurd" (although as the Cd warns, it is a rough mix but that's kind of it's charm) and "Supernatural" is one of her last great mindless pop songs.

Maybe to be more specific, mindless almost child-like pop songs. Even though it's supposed to be like something she hasn't done since. Kind of like "Where's the Party". I would probably add to that list some fo the songs from "I'm Breathless"....those might be her last "cutesy" pop songs.

I really like Hard Candy and although it has a lot of 80s influences, I really don't see its similarity with Madonna's 80s records

I would say it doesn't sound like her 80s records but sounds very much like R&B, disco, post disco from the 80s. I don't think it totally works but it has some enjoyable enough moments so I don't think it's one of her worst. But it's defiantly the one where she relinquishes the most control since maybe "Like A Virgin"!

My favorite Madonna album of all times. There are quite few I can love all the way through without skipping and Hard Candy was the first one. Even though it was more so one of her plastic albums..like some of the previous ones like True Blue, Like a Virgin, Im Breathless, it was very 80's and funky. And experimented with Pop and R&B. Nothing onthe radio sounds like Incredible or Shes Not Me or even Voices...Madonna did exactly what she intended to do and made HER album they wasy SHE wanted. It was not like her manager told her who she needs to work with as with alot of young artists. She worked them just as hard as they did to her as they all said.

I thought her speach was really good last night, for a second I thought she was about to make it all about her, but she quickly returned to the King. It was very well written and I'm glad she went for a respectful look.

I just ordered the maxi-single of "Celebration" lol

Album Version (3:35)
Oakenfold Remix (6:32)
Benny Benassi Remix (5:29)
Oakenfold Remix Dub (6:32)
Benny Banassi Remix Edit (3:58)
Johnny Vicious Club Remix (7:59

This is described as an "import CD single",but I think it's the exact same tracklist as the domestic release, which hasn't been released yet (as far as I know).
