"Afternoon Delight" is code for having sex in the middle of the day. But it goes to show you how creative songwriters were back in the 1970's. cool

nod True story. THE only reason why Olivia ended up recording it instead of Rod was because she walked in the studio during the time the demo version was being mixed and she thought that was one of the songs that the producers intended for her next album.

I'm another here who didn't know what "She Bop" was about until a few years ago. I also didn't realize what Frankie Goes to Hollywood was singing about at the time. Plus, I thought Rick James was actually singing about a girl named "Mary Jane". I was naieve as a kid.
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

Cinnie

You know, there is naive, and then there is just taking the very surface interpretation of a song.

I remember thinking New Edition's "Mr. Telephone Man" was really about a conflict with the phone company. nod

The video didn't help since there was no girl in it, just more arguing with operators in public phone booths, and phone techs working on the lines.
