not the fairest to say
if everyone can sing (and most people cant, they dont have the power or anatomy within their voice to hold a note, thats why its called a talent)
unless you just class any vocal noise ans singing, why cant everyone play the guitar, just picking it up and randomly pluck at it and your carlos santana
(seeing as thats what people try to do when they try and sing, usually not hitting notes they hope to)

am I exaggerating to make my point....sure...I am...but I think my point stands. Is Prince the greatest vocalist in the world. The answer is "by all mean's no". But he IS able to combine it with his many other talents. THat Old English broad on Britian's Got talent can sing her ass off...but U know...no offense to her...it's all she got. The world said buh bye.

I can also relate it my disdain for elvis. The man NEVER wrote a song his whole goddamn life. If Amy "crackhead" Winehouse can write a goddamn song....can't elvis write one.....r at least have the conficence to bring summin to the table. He stole and never went knowwhere with it, demonstrating a leack of a bitlity in learning. The Beatles stole left and right early in their careeer(shit, their WHOLE career)...but U know what....they grew and took it someplace...places it hadn't been before.

I'm not all about Lady Gaga, but the broad can sing...she can play piano...and has a GREAT hold on her image and presentation....best of all...she can write a goddamn song. Even britany spears worte a couple of goddamn songs.

My point is...if all U wanna bring tot he table is singing....be a damn background singer and be happy with it. My neighbor 2 doors down can sing her ass off....do she need a record deal...NO.

I think 2 short said it best...."I'd give U a singer and woudn't give U a joint....singers and shit and now I made my point."

nah susan boyle (scottish not english) cant sing, she has a weak vocal.
the only reason she was voted to top because she wasnt attractive, wasnt all there in the head (which is why she couldnt stand the pressure) most women voted for her with the selfish motive of ''if she can be famous so can I)
''now watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical, a liberal, a fanatical criminal''

There are and have been artists gifted with a great voice, but who aren't/weren't confident/succesful in composing. Vice versa with composers.
Just because a talented singer's schtick isn't writing her/his own songs, they should limit themselves to background singing just for the sake of that ? I don't see the point.
It's always your neighbor's or anyone's freedom to decide what the choose to do with their talent. Someone else's talented neigbor might take a chance because he/she is motivated to follow the road as an artist.
I just don't get it why the most human instrument is so underrated.

She's obviously inspired by him, but that doesn't necessarily make them comparable. She just came on the scene--it will take a few years for us to see if this debate is even worth all the breath that's been wasted on it. confused

P.S. Poker face is my JAM!
