I was on another artist's forum once, discussing an independent local record store. I was chatting with a guy about how bands used to personally take their self-financed singles to the store in the hope of getting them sold.
This chap said he did the same with one of his singles which eventually became a hit. When I asked which single he replied "Wonderful Life by Black"

It's an absolutely beautiful song.

I got really pissed off when the only karaoke box I found that had that song had a friggin' vocal track on it that sounded nothing like black and defeated the purpose of trying to sing.

Can't find this in a record store for the life of me though.

Also I find it funny that it was released on Ugly Man records despite the fact that Colin Vearcombe(sp?) is such a pretty man
