SHOWDOWN: ABBA or Bucks Fizz

both exploded on the scene with their phenomenal victory at the Eurovision Song Contest
both were made up of two long haired dudes and two broads who liked to wear mini-skirts
both included females that on a rather lousy day occasionally could be used as wanking material
both dominated the charts for a decade and changed the face of popular music. well, uhhmm, at least 50% of them did that, but that's good enough!

so what is your choice?

I was an ABBA kid. It was my first favourite group and that usually stays with you forever.
I bought the Bucks Fizz remasters a couple of years ago but it was mainly for 80's sound nostalgia redface

There is a Buck Fizz song that pops up on Pandora (probably an Abba station I made). It wasn't even a single but it was good...not good enough to justify a showdown, though. lol

No contest ABBA were much better, had more hits and are far more iconic (We are nuts about them in Australia and New Zealand).
Whereas Bucks Fizz were a pack of British wanna bes with a couple of tragic electropop hits. Its like comparing Dream First Born with Prince.
So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

It was the 70s man, Abba win again, they had some out of it clothes, but they didn't look like Simon (That game) with the red, blue, yellow, green thing. Sorry but with songs like SOS, Knowing me, Knowing You and One of us, to their credit there is no contest.

that's not fair. if Bucks Fizz had the same talent as ABBA had, and made better music than they actually did, then they would have been at least as good as ABBA, if not better hmph!

If it helps, in the early 80s, they released a white wine spritzer called Bucks Fizz. It was pretty tragic, some watered down Marque Vue (A very cheap New Zealand sparkling carbonated wine like BabyCham or Asti Riccadonna, but much cheaper and nastier) and lemonade. It came in a pink bottle with gold tin foil and you could imagine the rest.
