Madonna has spent more time and focus on creating amazing albums, while Janet has thrown together crap like Damita Jo, 20 Y.O., Discipline. Madonna has created brilliant albums like Ray of Light, Like a Prayer "The Closest pop will ever get to being art" - Rolling Stone, Music, Bedtime Stories. etc.

you keep saying this can't be judged on popularity or acclaim, then what can it be judged by? cause everything else is subjective. therefore a waste of time.

My experiences in total visual and tour rides with Madonna alot more the past 9 years. Janet has done some too, however it seems like she is just stuck in a rud of what to do next. I get the same experience from Janet, the same interviews...nothing in her life has really happened until this year. I love the fact she is acting again, LOVE IT. Maybe it will inspire inspiration again for a big meaningful project. And Michael's passing really hurt her. I hope she can reach inside herself from all the drama this year to bring out that pain and love into her work.
