The Critics like Madonna more. just saying.
Rolling Stone top 500 albums of all time: Madonna's albums Like a Prayer #237 Ray of Light #363 Music #452 Immaculate Collection #278 Janet Rhythm Nation 1814 #275 Velvet Rope #256 this shows that Madonna has had acclaimed albums in three decades, meaning throughout her career, while Janet has long past her prime. They are both Great dancers with limited voices, but Madonna focuses on the strength on her Albums while Janet focuses on having her tit fall out on the annually most watched event in history. At least little kids were never intentionally subjected to see Madonna's tit. 2012: The Queen Returns

janet. was a response to Erotica. [Edited 8/21/09 17:07pm] yeah and Janet's video was more memorable. janet. was a response to Erotica? Why because it was about sex? yup I forgot Madonna invented that concept too. Please take her off a pedestal!

And I said to u that I do like Janet and actually Rhythm Nation and That's The Way Love Goes are two of the best songs of all time. But Madonna for me is better. And, like it or not, that is the opinion of the majority of the buying public worldwide. You have every right to differ. But don't push your opinions on me as a matter of fact because they are not and anyway what you are doing is childish Again, popularity doesn't equate to good!! Donny Hathway and Phyllis Hyman are great examples of that!! both died without much love from the public but both were amazing artists EXACTLY. popularity means nothing. AND MADONNA IS ONLY POPULAR, cause the media hypes her up, and puts her out there. Madonna is overrated. and she had to sell her soul to be famous. That is why she is so popular. NOtice madonna fans will only talk about popularity and business savy. But what does that have to do with talent????? If the media worshiped janet just as much as Madonna, i bet some of these people would sing a different tune.

Just how the media does not want to give michael the title of "The greatest entertainer of all time"... They are not going to put Janet above madonna.
And believe michael has earned his titled, and Janet's TALENT far succeeds Madonna.

I ain't voting on this sh*t but I just wanted to clarify one point. Neither Janet nor Madonna are too be credited for the handless mic craz.
Oh yeah, baby: The tour, during which Bush changed costume 17 times a night, was highly influential on musicians to follow. The hand-free microphone popular with acts today was essentially created for Kate Bush by her sound man, who bent a coat hanger to hold a mike directly in front of her mouth. Overly expensive, the tour was marred by the death of Bill Duffield, Bush's lighting director, in April 1979. Since that tour, Bush has engaged in only limited live concert appearances, usually in support of charities.

Doing aerobics isn't dancing hun and you say Janet's focus was on having her tit fall out? BS! You must be a prude First of all, Bob Dyaln is amazing, and the criteria was about more than vocal skills, byt lyricism too. Madonna can dance, videos like Express yourself, Vogue, American Life, Don't tell me, Human Nature, Lucky Star. show a dancer who can do choreography Videos like Papa don't preach, Like a prayer, 4 Minutes, Ray of Light, etc. show she can groove without choreography. Janet and Madonna have very similarly limited vocal abilities, and both can dance. I like Madonna more for variety of music, better songwritting skills, better lyrics and better live concerts. I'm no prude, but no one show expose themselves on something CHILDREN watch. that's wrong. my point was although Janet has a couple classic albums, Madonna has more. Madonna has spent more time and focus on creating amazing albums, while Janet has thrown together crap like Damita Jo, 20 Y.O., Discipline. Madonna has created brilliant albums like Ray of Light, Like a Prayer "The Closest pop will ever get to being art" - Rolling Stone, Music, Bedtime Stories. etc. you keep saying this can't be judged on popularity or acclaim, then what can it be judged by? cause everything else is subjective. therefore a waste of time. Yeah maybe if this was in 2000 I would have went for Janet. Since then it seemed like Madonna cared a little more about her career than Janet as in artistic style and music. Music - Nice! American Life - SUCKED BIG TIME Confessions On A Dancefloor was coo..but too personal. Hard Candy is probably my fav. Madonna album of all time All For You - Aiight Damita Jo - Coo; some nice jams 20 YO - Mixed bag Discipline - Ok but no personality. As in image and presentation in the last 9 years I give it to Madonna for supporting all her albums they way she wanted to and the videos were better too. Music - Hawt Don't Tell Me - HAWT What It Feels Like 4 A Girl - American Life - NICE! Throw those bombs! Hollywood - Aiight Die Another Day - HAWT! Love Profusion - Creative, stylish but tame. Hung Up - Get Together - HAWT Jump - Sorry - Fun 4 Minutes - Very creative and fun to watch Give It 2 Me - Meh. All 4 U - HAWT Somone To Call My Lover - Son Of A Gun - Fun Doesnt Really Matter - never felt that song or video I Want You - Meh All Nite Dont Stop - Ok So Excited - Call On Me - Very creative and stylish Rock With You - Fun! Feedback - My experiences in total visual and tour rides with Madonna alot more the past 9 years. Janet has done some too, however it seems like she is just stuck in a rud of what to do next. I get the same experience from Janet, the same interviews...nothing in her life has really happened until this year. I love the fact she is acting again, LOVE IT. Maybe it will inspire inspiration again for a big meaningful project. And Michael's passing really hurt her. I hope she can reach inside herself from all the drama this year to bring out that pain and love into her work. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

It's so unfathomable to me I think that's easily the worst album she's cut - she's never been so uninspired, boring and generic. [Edited 8/24/09 7:26am]
