You keep saying we only argue her popularity, but you have not acknowledged my arguments that Madonna is a superior songwriter. Her first top 5 hit was one she penned by herself. THAT IS TALENT. Ever since 1986 Madonna has co-written or produced countless songs, and dozens of hits. THAT IS TALENT. She has pulled of critically acclaimed and popular tours in her 40s and 50s. THAT IS TALENT. She carried Evita and got a Golden Globe. THAT IS TALENT. She's influenced a slew of pop stars, from Britney to Gaga. She has won more Grammys than Janet. Hung up holds the record for going number 1 in 45 countries. that is not luck that is TALENT. Slant Magazine called Express Yourself the greatest music video of all time. Madonna's vision as a Business woman is TALENT. Her work ethic combined with her charisma and intuition have shown that you can be a talented performer without having the Amazing pipes of Aretha, but none the less Aretha would wipe the floor with both Divas.

You ask how did If change the game??

Just ask Beyonce, Brittney, Christina Millian, Ciara, Pink, Aaliyah and Christina Aguilara!

Many people tried to duplicate the structure, sex appeal and overall song

How did Cherish influence Janet? Except that influenced Janet's Miss You Much to block it lol

If your talking about the music video! Give me a break!! No one remembers Madonna's video whereas Janet's opened doors for those featured on it and presented a new her and is far more iconic!

both Christina and Britney work with Madonna's tour diretor because they want to do look like janet?

celebrities all work around or with the same people, it does not mean they were copying madonna. rolleyes

and WHAT DOES INFLUENCE, OR EVEN POPULARITY HAVE TO DO WITH TALENT?????

And you say that Janet worked with more styles? Madonna was the Number 1 charting adult contemporary artist of 89. She has the most Billboard Dance #1s she's done everything from spoken word, electroclash, pop, R&B, Adult Contemporary, Opera, Acoustic Rock, Funk, Electronica, Hip Hop, Disco, Dance, Rock, Gospel, Latin, etc. Janet has not done all that.

Jamie King??? He worked with Britney first and than Madonna!
Britney's Onyx tour was exact replica of Janet's All for You tour!!! Onyx Hotel tour, it's Janet inspired all over! And on the Circus tour she had a fan come on stage like Janet does which Usher and quiet few others followed. In rehearsals on her documentary she said to her choreographer 'I like how its close together. That's what Janet did on her shows and it's so powerful!' Britney Spears is just aping Janet.
Janet's career is the blueprint to her's! I know Madonna did that whole kiss as in way to say she's passing her un lite torch to her when Britney never did anything Madonna influenced. lol

Ehh LIESSSSS

Holiday, Material Girl and Like A Virgin was all written by other people without any assistance from Madonna! While Janet wrote and co-produced everything on the Control album!! She didn't influence a slew of pop acts!! falloff Just Gaga!! Little Richard never won a Grammy!! The Grammy's are shit!! It's all a popularity contest!! No one is discussing Business?? If so Janet had the highest paying contract ever - 80 million dollars!! Does that make her a "savvy business woman" besides Janet probably does her business privately! We don't know! Her work ethic? Spreading her legs apart and yodeling! Janet's Rock Withu tour puts her imitators to shame!! Especially since she's 43!

thanks for fixing the grammar, BUT ITS NOT THAT SERIOUS lol lol lol this is a PRINCE FORUM.

IT DOES NOT TAKE TALENT TO BE THE BIGGEST SOLO ARTIST OF ALL TIME, it takes people who are willing to give you that, people who will put you at the top.

RESEARCH THE ILLUMINATI AND MADONNA'S CONNECTION TO THEM. and you will see they RUN JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING in the Government including the music business.

Janet is working with J&L because they click musically and artistically! In her mind she thought she was doing good by doing shit hop. And don't be a prude!! Janet isn't the only singing about sex!! If she wants to sing about her vagina than dammit let it be lol She's been singing about sex since RN1814 but for some reason people just started noticing when All for You came out.

Yeah but the image and much of the theme of the album surfaced around the message that we need to be equal as one. There was a fictional generation of people who were the "protecters of society" played in the videos and music. The dark sounds, the pipes, the bells all created an image of darkness and justice. Yeah there was the slow jams but they were not BLUNT like Warmth with left nothing to the imagination. The pictures that she has been putting out clad to the 9's didnt help the albums image either. There was no real image and hasnt been in a while.

Are you trying to say Madonna influenced Britney more than Janet? falloff
If anything you can just to look at Britney's work and see Janet's influence all over it

Britney Spears actually said:
I'm sorry, but I'd rather meet Madonna than the president of the United States. Madonna has this thing about her that you can't explain -- the thing that makes somebody a star. When she walks into the room, you just have to take notice. She's so comfortable with herself, and she's not afraid to live life to the fullest and to say whatever she feels, no matter what anyone thinks. There's something kind of childlike about that; it's a beautiful, amazing thing.
Madonna was the first female pop star to take control of every aspect of her career and to take responsibility for creating her image, no matter how much flak she might get. She's proved that she can do so many different things -- music and movies and being a parent, too. Her music has become iconic: Songs like "Holiday" or "Live to Tell" are timeless -- not just disposable hits. They feel like home. She has her spells of being moody and vibey and spiritual, but her words are so easy to relate to. She's a diva and does what she wants, but she's a loving person.

The first time I met her was when I flew to visit her at one of her shows in 2001. I walked into her dressing room, and her daughter, Lola, was there, and I felt really nervous. I said to Madonna, "Can I just hug you?" I was so stupid! But she was so nice about it. I would definitely not be here, doing what I'm doing, if it wasn't for Madonna. I remember being eight or nine years old, running around my living room singing and dancing and wanting so much to be like her. All my girlfriends still listen to her stuff. We're all mesmerized by her. Madonna's stage presence has inspired so many artists -- you can see her influence in some of the younger generation like Kelly Clarkson and Shakira, who have picked up some of her moves.

As part of the generation that's coming up, you look at Madonna and you don't want to let her down. That's such a motivation for me. I love doing what I do, but when Madonna comes around -- like when we were making the video for "Me Against the Music" -- it's like, "Everybody get your act together -- the godmother is here."

Madonna has done so much, and she's been around so long, and the bitch still looks good! She's spent years in the public eye, and that can be really hard for anyone to deal with. But she dug deep and started writing from her heart, and that's therapy to keep you going. Madonna has so much light inside her, and she's so much more noticeable than all of the rest of us. She stuck to what she believed in and did what she felt, and that was part of her art -- to just be herself.

And Janet having more talent then madonna?????

OH and of course Britney will denounce janet, and give all that credit to madonna, because madonna is more in the spot light.
