I like disco, does that make me slightly gay?

I love Horse Meat Disco and the likes (new disco) but the whole scene appears to still be completely dominated by gay men. There's no way I could attend one of their club nights being so unfashionable and straight.

So am I just into a really gay genre of music or is anyone else out there the same as me, that is, straight and male?

Yeah I know lol I'm so unfashionable I don't even know what Horse Meat or new disco is. name me some bands/songs.

I like all music as long as it's good. cool I don't think it makes me anything.

It's a club night but they have a really great mix album out called, funnily enough, Horse Meat Disco.

But there is so much house and dance that crosses into disco anyway.

Personally I like Norman Jay and the way he'll be playing Jackson one minute, Northern Soul the next and then ripping it up with some drum and bass. Awesome dj.

Disco shouldn't have to make you feel like you are anything but what you are, if you dig disco because you love to dance to it, then you just love disco. Doesn't make you anything IMHO. smile

No it does not. I love techno/house music, which my wife swears that only gay people listen to. I am not gay and I don't care who critisizes me for loving techno.

Nothing can make you gay. You're either gay or not. Enjoy the music, though I've never heard of it. Introduce it to some hetero friends and get them to go to the club with you.

So straight males & females that suddenly decide they're 'gay' in their late 20's you would say they were always that way and in denial?...

What if I said you're either bisexual or you're not?...could you explain that away?

In my experience...direct experience.. it is gays and lesbians who are in SERIOUS DENIAL about the real reason why they are the way they are...but i'll stop there b4 I get the usual abuse...

Go ahead and ask me how I know...

Disco is fine... I'm a straight male who likes disco...Abba, Metallica, Kate Bush...etc

I'm a very straight male.

And I need to remind you that disco is for everyone, NOT just gays.

Don't you love Stereotypes, Gay people like disco, I know some gay people who can't stand it. Besides you are born gay, you don't choose to be gay and you sure as hell don't become gay by listening to a form of music. Jeez, some people I know think that listening to Prince makes you gay. (One of my aunties, siad she knew I was gay when I started getting into Prince, I said you don't know me very well)
So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

that's one of the things i hated so much about the 90's
it seems during the decade they declared anything fun and different as "gay"
in the 80's u can listen to anything u wanted without anybody saying your "gay" for listening to it.. Boy George,Dead Or Alive etc....can u imagine if those artists came out now? they wouldnt get any airplay because of what they are and what they look like and that's a shame

Yes, you are gay as hell for liking disco. And since gay people party harder than straight people, be glad and proud to be gay. lol

But seriously, unless you've got the urge to suck a dick or get your dick sucked by another guy, you're still straight. Now that we've got you better taste in music, let's work on getting you better taste in your sexual preference. You know we're "recruiting" new people every day. lol

And just what is the real reason we are the way we are that we're in such denial about? Are we all closet Republicans that just haven't been caught in a public bathroom stall yet? evillol

I think it's my "inner gay". The "outer heterosexual" is by far the dominant side of me though. It's insatiable to be honest.

I could probably have gone with the other side when I was younger and when times were hard (no pun) but they never were so I never did. I really do like boobs and fanny far too much. They're just so yummy. It's the curves and the naughtiness of it all.

Perhaps growing up with three women and listening to Abba is what did it. Not bloody Abba!
