Jazz music defined American popular music until the 1950s. There have been some jazz albums since then that have managed to break through on the pop charts, but the genre remains on the outskirts of pop music. Does anyone think that jazz will have another golden pop age?

My opinion is no. I would love for this to happen because I'm a fan but given today's music industry this seems unlikey.

Unfortunately, imo, i'd also give you a resounding NO!
It might be possible in Japan or Europe, but not in the U.S. anytime soon.

The dedication and sacrifice involved in being a good Jazz musician is not respected as it once was.

Modern directions of jazz which i listened to the past 2 decades were M-Base (Steve Coleman & 5 Elements / Greg Osby / etc), NuJazz which is mainly based in the UK,
and recorded by artists such as Dego / Kaidi Tatham / Nathan Haines / New Sector Movements / Izzi Dunn / etc, and i dig the direction which Roy Hargrove went with his group RH Factor.
