This is a performance that always gets overlooked, but I always thought Debarge and High Inergy were one of the highlights of the night at the Motown 25 special. I always loved this performance. My dad owned the Motown 25 special on VHS and I remember wearing the hell out of this video as a kid. My fave performances were MJ/J5 of course, Marvin, Four Tops/Temptations, Smokey and Debarge/High Inergy. I remember wanting to be the lady in the purple dress so badly 'cause she got to dance with El Debarge and I thought he was so cute. My Mom and Aunts would always laugh when we watched this video though 'cause they said Bunnie Debarge was stiff and couldn't dance for ish , which is true. Pretty, but stiff as hell. The High Inergy ladies put her to shame with their dancing.

Anyhow, I thought it was one of the highlights of the Motown 25 special. It's in my top 5 for sure. I wonder what happened to this group High Inergy? I thought they were pretty good, it seems like they fizzled out soon after. Too bad.
