Kid Creole Interview On The Today Show - 25 Years Ago! I didn't know he was an English teacher....cool!
You know what though? Its absloutly beyond me how this group never got the proper respect they strongly deserve. They were the equivalent of Prince in terms of fusing many different musical styles and making them sound pretty accessible. And like Prince, their fusion attempts weren't forced or sounded dated. I wish I could blame it on the "wrong place, wrong time" factor but I know its not the case,,,,,maybe they were TOO HIP for people to catch up on, I guess.

It was August Darnell ( Creole) and Coati Mundi who are responsible for Dr Buzzard's original Savannah band August also wrote " There but for the Grace of God by Machine" [Edited 8/16/09 19:36pm]

...
In an older thread, a few of us here were wondering whether Prince got some ideas for Morris, Jerome and The Time from watching Kid Creole and Coati Mundi interact... Anyway, these Dr Buzzard Tunes were always favorites... We Got It Made Sunshower ... They were really popular in the U.K. They seemed to be on the telly a lot when I was young.
