What do you all think of Kokane? He is a singer/rapper from the Westcoast.
Hip hop/funk. He has a vocal style with similarities to George Clinton, but not in such a way that he is a rip off, he definately brings in new sounds. He has also worked with George Clinton on a number of occassion. He has a sung/rapped on MANY funky productions. His real name is Jerry Long Jr., and is son of Mowtown writer Jerry Long Snr. I will post some tracks, and will update later (mostly choruses, but maybe his own tracks too). Feel free to contribute with songs, opinions and questions. Snoop Dogg feat. No, that was Jelly Roll on the chorus (which he produced with Dr Dre). It does sound a bit like him though, and usually I do not see him credited, but I have seen some sites saying ''feat. Kokane''. Probably a mistake, or maybe he is doing some uncredited backing vocals. [Edited 8/16/09 12:52pm] | |

I like Kokane. Does he still live out in Pomona?
He used to roll with Ruthless and Eazy-E back in the day. I like the track "Go Away" he did with Snoop as well. |
