1 - The Flaming Lips. Saw them recently and my god do they put on a great show. They make simple little things like balloons and confetti so magical and their stage entrance was just awesome. How many bands come out of a woman's snatch lol

2 - Stevie Wonder. Went to one of his Sydney shows last year and the man still knows how to put on an awesome groove. He doesn't need to get up and dance around like some artists he just needs his keys and his in his element.

3 - Dream Theater. Their first Australian tour EVER and they didn't disappoint. Was amazing to see Petrucci in person actually playing his guitar as fast as he does on the albums. And Rudess' keyboard solos are always epic.

4 - The Mars Volta. The way they just get up there and jam and do improv songs is amazing. No other band would ever think of doing what they do, let alone doing it for nearly 3 hours!

5 - Silverchair. Seen these guys many times and I will see them many more. They have plenty of energy and keep the crowd going. The level of crowd participation is also something I have rarely ever seen. 90% of the songs they get everyone involved in.

I have only been to 5 concerts yet haha

1. 21 Nights In London - Prince 28th August 2007

Great energetic show filled with hits but performed with passion.
Great teasing with the synthesizer/sampler set, great pianomedley and an awesome performance of Purple Rain.

2. A Wonder's Summer Night's Tour - Stevie Wonder 28th September 2008

Awesome 2 hour long setlist with Stevie taking you from the greatest hits to classic album tracks from his classic albums that you've listened to a million times already, great perfomance of 'Free' btw. And a great performance with a great band.

3. George Clinton & Parliament- Funkadelic Feest In Het Park, August 2008

Awesome performance, you have to really be there. And I was like at the first row sayin' to myself that's George and Gary Shider omg!! They had to stop after 2 hours but they could've gone on for forever and the audience doesn't seem to have minded if tehy would.

4. Sananda Maitreya Gent September 2007

Playing tracks only from his Angels & Vampires album, there were only like 45 people and it was really close and intimate. I had never heard the album too btw. So it was like he was creating it right in front of us. He even shook the hand of everybody in the room hahaha.

5. Wild T & The Spirit

So this guy was playing in some bar in a little village not far from where we live and me and a friend of mine from Trinidad went check it out, he started at like 11.30 pm and he played some amazing guitar (we were like eek ), we left at 3 am and he was still playing but we were like fuck it (haha) we don't even know you, we've already gottn our 8 euro's worth. My friend brought his Trinidad flag and the guy stopped the concert for like 3 minutes to talk with my friend about trini soccer haha.

I've been holding off on an answer to this... It is too hard.

I know some shows that were memorable in a good way...

Lakeside - Memorial Auditorium - Sacramento 1982? ...It was right when Fantastic Voyage was a HUGE hit. They came out like they were on a ship with fog and effects. It was FUNKY! I was a kid (14?) and I was so hyped.

Prince aftershow at the Warfield - San Francisco 1989? ...Me and two buddies bought scalped tickets and saw a great show that included lots of Boni Boyer singing. It was relaxed yet funky.

Tony! Toni! Tone'! @ Geoffrey's Inner Circle - Oakland, CA. 1996? - It was a tribute to Boni Boyer right after she passed. The energy and love in that small room with incredible. I will never forget the feeling in that room (even if I do not know the date).

Earth, Wind & Fire - Oakland Coliseum Arena 1981? - My Dad was so cool he drove my sister and I and two of our friends to Oakland to see the show. Let's Groove was the JAM at the time. Us kids had tickets - and Dad ended up buying a scalped ticket so he could see the show too.

Prince & the Revolution - Cow Palace - San Francisco. 1985. My first Prince concert! I got out of school early (did a half-day) and me and my best friend drove our 17 year-old behinds to SF to see Prince. ...Sheila E. in that bodysuit = cloud9

1. Prince (celebration)
2. U2 TV - Wilt Disposable Heroes of Hiphopriscy
3. R.E.M. 1984 (pre "the one I love as a single)
4. Sextacy Ball (Lords of Acid, KMFDM, Thrill Kill Cult)
5. U2 360 (Next month 4th row in Chicago)

So hard to limit it to 5.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

Best part is it was in a club that was about the size of 1st Avenue complete with tiny balcony area. It had a B&D theme show and impressionable college girls were everywhere.

U2 is coming to Houston October 14th, playing the 72,000 seat Reliant Stadium. Word is they've only sold 46,000 seats so far.

I just checked on Ticketmaster and you can still get good Club-level seats.
