Richard Berry, the originator of "Louie, Louie"

Though the Kingsmen version was more raucous, I love the mixture of doo-wop, rock, Latin and Caribbean sounds in the original by Richard Berry, who also wrote the song:



He waited until '85 to get royalties for this because he had cheaply sold the song's rights in 1957.
