Because he's a poor man's R. Kelly.

But not knowing who he was until a month ago? confused "All the Things (Your Man Won't Do)," "I Wanna Know," and "Stutter" were all huge.

I thought that was Ginuwine? lol
but Oh I didn't know he had hits I just know I hear his music all the time at CVS! I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. You know what's weird is that Joe said that R.Kelly sabotaged his career! I think he needs to just get over his lackluster career falloff

He's had 5 top-10 hits and of those only his debut single failed to make the top 5:

1993 "I'm in Luv" #10
1996 "All the Things (Your Man Won't Do)" #2 [#11 Pop]
1997 "Don't Wanna Be a Player" #5
2000 "I Wanna Know" #2 [#3 Pop]
2000 "Stutter" #1 [#1 Pop]

He has 5 other top-20 hits. He was also a guest on Mariah Carey's "Thank God I Found You" (which topped both charts) and Big Pun's "Still Not a Player," which reached #3.

I don't find Joe irrelevant at all. It just goes to show that, for the most part, massive talent will not always get its proper due. Been that way for a long time. Most of it is how hard are you willing to hustle too.

Two of my favorite Joe songs are duets:

Chico DeBarge & Joe - No Guarantee (Remix)

"Faded Pictures" with Case is my all-time favorite, but it's not on YouTube.

Yeah, I'd say he's a better singer. That would be his only advantage, though.

Joe is only irrelevant to people that don't listen to r&b music. To a listener, he's only one or 2 hit wonder.

I don't consider myself a fan of his, but he has done some good songs. I liked the music and concept for "If I was ur man", but the bad grammar bothered the hell out of me. It could have just as easily been "If I Were Your Man".

He's irrelevant to me because I'm just not a big fan. I like enough of his songs, though, but there's nothing special about him at all to me.

Like when Alicia Keys changed "If I Were Your Woman" to "If I Was Your Woman"! disbelief

he has a new album out called signature. its okay IMO.

joe to me is cool. some of his stuff sounds "r. kelly rip-off-ish"/immature, but his stuff (1993-2003 or so) is mostly good, then he kinda fell off for a while after that, but he redeemed himself a bit with his new signature album.

how exactly is he irrevlevant?

"More & More" is written by R Kelly & was supposed to be on his heavily bootlegged album "Love Land"

Joe is good, but these days his songs are sounding more and more repetive.

I agree. In fact when he first came out (or around that time) I felt like he was singing the same song over & over but they'd be different releases lol I do like his voice I just think he has some boring songs which makes him boring which makes people sleep on him. Plus he comes off corny in his videos, that never helps.
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

You just tapped into something that I had never thought of.

Joe seems to come off as this sex machine/loverman in his music, but his videos don't show that, nor do his performances. He comes across as the guy in high school that wants to be cool, but just isn't.
