I was surprised that some of the songs were absolutely ghastly. Do like Lovegame though. sorry mate but you got it all wrong. lady gaga is a dale bozzio from missing persons rip off!! BINGO!!! I'm surprised more people in the media don't see that. She's Dale, mixed with Grace Jones, Wendy O Williams and Madonna. I'm not hating her, I just don't feel her music, and the image- I've seen before. She doesn't seem like she brings anything really new to the game. I have heard her sing and was impressed with her stripped vocals. Hopefully she's continue to grow as an artist.

I see Lady GaGa as very original just watch her Fameball shows its AMAZING. sure some of her songs are so so, but her blend of different influences has brought something new to Pop music and I LOVE it. she's got more than 15 minutes in her, she is one of very few artists to have their frist 3 singles hit #1 on the mainstream chart. thats impressive . 2012: The Queen Returns

The only similarity I see between Lady Gaga and early Pink is that they both have interesting names and they both do/did R&B-influenced pop. I know both of them just by the singles so I cannot say who is the better artist. But so far I liked all 4 Gaga singles although not enough to buy the album and it was something similar with Pink in the beginning. Image-wise I think Pink was the strong macho girl with the tough attitude, Lady Gaga is much more feminine and relies much more on sex-appeal with a lot of attitude too (a bit like early Madonna). Oh and I really don't like the Little Boots girl.

Well Love Game went Top 5 but not No.1 in the US. Paparazzi also went Top 5 but not number 1 in the UK. But OK still it is impressive to have your 2 first singles both going number 1 on both sides of the atlantic

Not to mention her album went platinum in the U.S. no small feat. But, Lil' Wayne's album also went platinum in the U.S. and hip-hop isn't any bigger than pop music; so, his was really quite a feat if you think about it...not to mention being the highest selling album of 2008; which still surprises me. I've given up on the fickleness of charts and numbers because I've noticed that pretty much anything with a gimmick and/or large amounts of publicity is usually going to garner pretty big numbers even if it's weak and unoriginal. I just don't understand what was wrong with her music when she came out like this: She was making music before the Lady Gaga schtick, so was it the image that shot her into the atmosphere or the talent that was there from the beginning? Plus, why does Lady Gaga seem to always be compared to some other more established artists? There was a thread recently comparing her to Prince, which was just humorous and a tad bit delusional. If she's soo amazing, why compare her to anyone? Why can't she just be like Lady Gaga? If she's a combination of several artists who are still making albums, than why not just go and buy their albums over a new artist who is just copying them? I'm just sayin' If it's about the music, why is she relying soo much on the image thing? I can understand the artsy/fashionista side of it, but Katy Perry also incorporates a lot of creative ensembles into her image; and, she also writes her own songs (her album is really good btw...total surprise for me actually). Katy did the opposite of Lady Gaga for me. With Lady G., I adored 'Just Dance' and have disliked every single after it, but with Katy, I hated 'I Kissed A Girl', but have loved all of her follow-up singles. They're both pretty outrageous girls with lots of talent. They take chances and I can respect that from both of them and I think that both of them will be around for quite some time. Exactly what I think.
I'm not expecting every single artist that comes out to be groundbreaking, and she definitely has a lot of talent. But I don't get why she gets all this attention. She wears crazy outfits? So what? It doesn't make her music better. I think she should concentrate more on the music and less on the fashion part of it. She has a couple of catchy songs, doesn't everybody? I mean, there's a hot100 full of it, 52 weeks of the year. Her music is not my cup of tea. It stinks. That's just my opinion. gracias

It's the pop scandal of the century. Or, more accurately, it's the Twitter-trending topic of the past 20 minutes: Did Lady Gaga steal her look from Irish electro ice-maiden Roisin Murphy?
Yes she did, according to Murphy herself, who told Irish Central: "Lady Gaga is just a poor imitation of me. She has copied my style." And the pictures, courtesy of Idolator, would seem to bear her claims out: http://new.music.yahoo.co...ifference/ You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

^^ on crack Indeed... I'm not a fan of Lady Gaga or Pink, but my heart goes to GaGa though, 'cause she's bringing something quite fresh, not that mainstream fluffy "girl power" rock Pink has been singing for years and which is becoming annoying... And no, Lady GaGa doesn't sound like Pink in any area (musically or vocally).. Plus she writes, and play instruments... My heart def goes to her Everybody is somebody, but nobody wants to be themselves.
