Bonus Old School R&B Song Of The Day(12/19/2002) Bill Withers- Lovely Day One of the great songs that really lift up the spirit{just like The Blackbyrds' "Walking In Rhythm}. This song is simply beautiful, not much more to say about it. You can whistle and/or hum to it. Bill really comes through on the climax of this track.

I love many songs by Bill Withers,but "Lovely Day" is my favorite.It has a breezy,midtempo groove that feels like springtime to me.The 70s was filled with songs like these...beautiful, breezy,midtempo R&B songs that you could just chill out to---

I think "Lovely Day" was released in the spring time. Another great "springtime" 70's song is Minnie Riperton's "Lovin You" with the birds whistling and all. | |

I'm always playing his music, especially that song. It's a first thing in the morning when you wake up type of song to listen to. My ultimate favorite Bill Whither's song is "Ain't No Sunshine." It's short, sweet, and beautiful. "Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!

Good call on Lovely Day Brother915! I've gotta admit that I ended up being Bill Wither's Greatest Hits after this song re-surfaced in a Gap ad. It was so infectious.

The original plan was to present the old school r&b song of the day until the end of Dec of 2002. But as you know the org went down pass Dec 31st. So I will whip out the old school R&B song of the day in June{that will be good since that is considered black music month}.
