From smooth_criminal05 on MJJC:

I have some news about the movie guys, just revealed to me by a source working closely on the movie. I can't give his name due to privacy but I can confirm it is 100% legit. There is some great stuff here, here is what I know:

1) Trailers are mostly done, and were waiting partly on the footage from the funeral which is being added in now. Expect to see the first ad premiere next weekend. I tried to press him on more info regarding the VMA's but couldn't get a confirmation.

2) The movie is not a 2 hour concert like many fans thought. In fact the movie is simply a documentary based around the This Is It tour, it shows Jackson in his final days and includes his death, aftermath, and reaction. Clips from the memorial and funeral will be used.

3) There will be some footage of MJ performing, much longer then the 3-4 minute snippet released at the end of June by AEG. You will see MJ in his dressing room, mingling and directing, plus one scene where he talks to the camera. Basically, it will show Jackson in his final months alive.

4) The movie is between 100 and 130 minutes in length.

5) The plan for the DVD is to have it out in late November by Thanksgiving or early December at the latest, although my source revealed this maybe a long shot if they extend the 2 week showing to 3 or 4 weeks (which is possible).

6) The DVD will contain the theatrical version in its whole plus over 2 hours of Jackson performing, warming up his vocals, singing, and in full costume. The most spectacular footage is by far from the Staples Center in LA which I'm told will "blow fans away". This extra footage will be a special feature on the DVD along with many other treats that fans will love.

7) Finally, the CD soundtrack I'm told will be released after the movie, most likely sometime in November to coincide with the DVD launch and WILL include a new song Jackson recorded in his last 2 years alive. Apparently the song is "off the hook" and is currently being worked on by producers who are putting the finishing touches on it and is being considered to be issued as a single all around the world.

This better be true, dammit!

Sounds great. I didn't expect it to be 2 hours of him performing, but there were mixed reports that it would focus mostly on the This Is It shows or if it was going to be a True Hollywood-esque documentary. I don't want to sit through Jackson's entire life with only a few minutes of the making of This Is It. If it's a bunch of stuff like the dancers, production, the stages, etc. with interviews and footage of Jackson producing, directing and performing, that's exactly what I hope to see.

Really looking forward to this.

For those thinking this is just milking Jackson... maybe it is, but it wouldn't matter if he died recently or if he died at the age of 104, people will make money off of the situation. I don't find it to be that big of a deal, he's got an estate, children who could use the money and charities that the money will go to.

I think people will be shocked to find how amazing this film is.

Everything relating to this event has been totally cinematic, like HIStory playing out and coming to life.

The clip of the rehearsal is very poetic, especially as MJ smiles at the end.

People will be surprised as they see Jackson's performance.

Additionally, it will be a most entertaining treat to finally see Jackson on the big screen with a story of his own.

Everyone will want to see this come release time, as the film will likely be a HIStoric smash.

I said from the start that this would be a lip-synched rehash of the same old routines with Michael much slower dance-wise than he used to be. Everything that's emerged since then has proven me right. It's nothing to brag about, since it was obvious if you know anything about Michael, but the fact that some people actually argued with me about it speaks volumes. You can't buy sense.

u could be right but just watch the film first when it comes out before making any conclusions and remember a couple things.

1. this is just rehearsals
2.from michael's point of view this was not expected to be seen by the public in theaters.

2 minutes of rehearsals? That's all I've seen of MJ doing anything on this tour. It WAS the same as the HIStory tour, fair enough, but "everything that's emerged" pretty much amounts to only two minutes.

Although someone recorded him doing The Way You Make Me Feel from outside the arena and he was singing bits of it live and it also had a revamped introduction.

People that have seen the rough-cut have got emotional. I guess this is really going to go for the heartstrings.

However, as a fan and out of respect for Mike, and hatred to that lying slime in charge at AEG, I'm still not going.

So, he could sing (he sings live in parts) and dance. There goes Ian Halperin's theory.

Good stuff. His voice is much deeper but still good in those tidbits. Love the more acoustic-sounding Billie Jean drumbeat.

Michael....

DAMN I miss him.
That is all I could keep thinking as I watched this trailer.
The same little kid in me who smiled when I saw "Moonwalker" for the first time, nearly balled my eyes out watching the trailer. It really hit me at the VMAs, when Michael didn't walk out, that he really is GONE. FOREVER.

His absence is felt so deeply on so many levels in my life. And the saddest thing of all is, while this movie may bring back his memory, he is gone, and still worse, I know I'm not alone with those feelings.

damn right!
MJ sure knew how to put a show on, and these would have been the Ultimate shows that everyone would have talked about for years.

While the haters will say he was rehashing, we all know that he was putting new spins on his classic material. Look at the damn lighting, clothing etc, it looks amazing compared to any of his previous tours like Dangerous or History.

He was doing 3D, wild stunts, amazing dancers, and probably some other crazy shit we will never get to see.

It would have been fucking value for money.

I for one am gutted I will never get to see him do them live.

What a fucking shame!!
While cocks like Kanye get to live, the king MJ has to pass away.

Life is too fucking harsh!!
