It's not a concert, just a rehearsale, he's lipsynching and dance like an old man, no new songs...it's gonna suck. I don't want to see this pathetic montage and keep a better image of him.

It's being produced by Kenny Ortega and has the full support of the estate (and also the family), and my guess is the family will want to screen it before it is finished.

"This Is It" To Be Presented Exclusively For Two-Week Limited Engagement
August 20, 2009

A Michael Jackson film built around rehearsal footage left behind after his death will be released in a limited two-week theatrical engagement worldwide.

Distributor Sony announced that the release date for "Michael Jackson: This Is It" has been moved up to Oct. 28, two days earlier than previously announced.

Tickets go on sale Sept. 27.

The studio also announced longtime Jackson collaborator Kenny Ortega is directing "This Is It," which offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse of Jackson preparing for a series of London shows he was rehearsing when he died June 25.

Ortega had been working with Jackson on the "This Is It" concert tour. His other credits include the "High School Musical" movies and an upcoming remake of "Footloose."

I have had the pleasure of seeing Michael Jackson live 4 times, and I don't care how much AEG tries to convince the public that MJ was in top form (judging by the rehearsal video), he was not. Understandably, he was rehearsing and may not have had the rush of a live audience, but he ws lip syncing and his dancing was not of MJ standards.

It was a rehearsal. I've seen MJ doing rehearsals on YouTube and he does not always do it with full energy. It's like he's marking the moves rather than actually going at it full steam. Remember, we only saw a small clip of the rehearsal, so we don't know what the rest of it was like.

Personally, I can't wait to see it at the movies AND I really, really, really, want to own a DVD of it. It's history.

I have to agree here. We only saw no more than 2 minutes of rehearsal. I've seen plenty of shows where Michael didn't really give his "all" during the performances. The footage we saw was one ONE of maybe 3 or 4 rehearsals for the same song. They might not even use that particular rehearsal footage for that song.

I am very curious to to why people want to see this? isn't it a bit tacky of whomever put this together to make money after MJ's passing?

why is everyone and their mother repeating the "its a rehearsal" blah blah blah crap? we all know it's a rehearsal.

Me thinks I want to go just to be able to say I was a part of the history behind it all. You don't want to go? That's your issue but stop acting holier then thou, lol

It's not like the movie will be just rehearsal footage. It will be like a fly on the wall sort of thing. A documentary.

How is it tacky to make money after Michael's death? If that's the case, it would be tacky if they release a MJ album with new/unreleased material after his death. Guarantee people will go out and buy that.

Why do they sell tickets one month in advance for a documentary film?

I think it would benefit his estate, which reports say needed benefittin'. shrug

And he left behind three young children that need raising. shrug

And unlike a Latoya tribute single, you'll actually be enjoying Michael's work and not settling for a sibling.
