anyone heard of Dan Deacon? I was passing by and caught the last 10 minutes of his set at Lollapalooza yesterday.
I had to stop. The people I was with were walking and I said "HOLD UP HOLD UP! I GOTTA SEE THIS SHIT!" I had spotted the stage full of 20 people, including some guy in a big foam suit and about 3 tuba players and a bunch of trombonists. So, like... they started playing this song. And there was a guy in the middle of the crowd leading some interpretive dance thing with the audience with their hands and what-not, then all of a sudden hundreds of water bottles started flying into the air repeatedly. It was really kind of awesome. I was enthralled by the entire thing. It may have been my favorite moment of the entire day (I only went on Sunday with some friends/family). Check out the video: So anyone know anything about this guy? His music? I think I'm going to check him out. The whole thing, with the music and the dancing and the shit flying brought to mind Koyaanisqatsi/Powaqqatsi brought to life. It was kind of exhilarating. | |
