It's weird how this girl was only 17 or 18 and yet she was already singing about bad relationships like she was 30 or something. And she was only about 35 when she did "No Pain No Gain"! | |

Yep, "Girls Can't Do What Guys Do" came out in 1968 but I think she came out with songs beforehand. I heard a '60s-era song called "Paralyzed" and it sounds 1966-ish. Betty reportedly started her career in gospel at two (!) and transferred to R&B at 11 (!) so that means she started around 1965 (she was born in December 1953). [Edited 8/7/09 21:02pm] | |
