Liza Rios and her children have been forced to relocate to the shelter after losing their home to foreclosure. "We're in a city shelter," Rios said in an interview. "It's been very hard for them [the children] to transition. After Pun passed I didn't receive a lot of money. I received $160,000 from publishing. The house I was paying mortgage [on] was my husband's. He bought the house and it wasn't paid out. The five years I was living there I spent over $120,000 just on mortgage [payments]. Then you [have] the kids, and the food, and the clothes and legal fees...when there's no money coming in, there's just money [going] out." Rios also talked about her physically and emotionally abusive relationship with her late husband. "It's through the grace of God that I've survived," she said. "I never knew what domestic violence was until I was in it and even when I was in it I still didn't know what was going on. I thought it was just me I didn't know that it was happening with so many women." As a member of the Terror Squad rap group Pun was responsible for introducing rapper Fat Joe to the public. According to Rios, she and Joe are not on good terms and have no plans to reconcile. "We haven't been on the best of terms in a while. I'm asking to see proof of royalties and so forth. I have not yet seen anything. Pun has made a lot of money for people and continues to make money for them. Pun doesn't get paid when you hear songs on iTunes [or] ringtones. If Pun's not getting a check, his kids are not getting a check." Pun, born Christopher Rios, died in 2000 from a fatal heart attach. %*#% Fat Joe. There's actual video of Big Pun pistol whipping his wife which has been shown on TV and it's on the internet as well. He also smashed glass in her face one time. Her face still doesn't look like it's healed after all these years. Big Pun was a talented rapper, but was very abusive to his wife and I when I saw all that, I lost all respect for him. He was horribly abusive. He treated his wife like shit, I don't know why she stayed with him all those years. As for her being in a shelter, that's sad, mainly for the kids. I don't know if she got anything from Big Pun's estate but considering that she was his wife, she's entitled. She could also get a job of course. Abuse and shady record business royalties aside, didn't Big Pun take out any life insurance or homeowners insurance? If the house was in Big Pun's name only, and she got the house in probate, the homeowners insurance policy should have kicked in and paid off the rest of the mortgage. Plus, if he had taken out life insurance, she should have gotten something from the proceeds to pay off the house. So I don't understand why they ended up in their current financial straits unless he wasn't smart enough to get insurance or they got accustomed to a certain lifestyle that they could not sustain, ala Scott Storch.

I don't know if Fat Joe ever said THAT^ part in bold (although that he always defended Big Pun for years after the man's death). But if he did said that, he needs to stop drinking the bad Kool-Aid his groupies has given him.  | |

That fat fucker wouldn't have been able to catch me let alone hit me....  Pun's widow was NOT the Mary Poppins type of wife either, so I can understand why Fat Joe said she probably deserved it. All she had to do was duck and run and she wouldn't have been abused...

No woman deserves to be beat period and it is not all about speed re someone laying a beating on you. Vibe did an article on big pun and that is when they talked about Fat Joe making that ignorant as remark "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries." | |
