Oh come on, don´t be so mean. You´ve probably heard or read about poor children being more prone to obesity than rich kids because poor kids eat much more sugary stuff and cheap, simple carbohydrates. Good nutrition is expensive. Fast food joints are all over the place in most poor areas in the USA. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! He also smashed glass in her face one time. Her face still doesn't look like it's healed after all these years. Big Pun was a talented rapper, but was very abusive to his wife and I when I saw all that, I lost all respect for him. He was horribly abusive. He treated his wife like shit, I don't know why she stayed with him all those years. 1. She had low self-esteem. 2. She was (and still is) very uneducated to the point of not being able to find a job in New York, a city of very high cost of living. Yes NYC is a city of very high cost and living, as I was born and raised here and it has become even more expensive in the last two years. But there's also many training programs she could have got herself into. NYC has many foreigners coming here with very little, and they seem to find ways to make it, so although I do feel for her because of the abuse she experienced, she has to find a way to motivate herself to get beyond her situation. She has to do that for her kids so that they could see there is a way out of no way. There's also many services for abused women/domestic violence in this city. It's almost like she became dependent on whatever funds she received from Big Pun's royalties, (regardless if it wasn't what she expected), and if there was any life insurance she received and for her and her kids, if any.. When Big Pun died, that's when the antennas should have went up, and she should have started thinking about what kind of future she wanted for her and her kids. [Edited 8/7/09 7:49am]

Absolutely, but it seems she was spoiled by the lifestyle of living in a nice home. Had she educated herself while she had the opportunity of being in that situation, before the money ran out, then she would not have ended up in that situation. She's asksing Fat Joe about royalties. I mean doesn't the woman know by now how shady the music industry is? She's a co-dependent, that's what the problem is. She depended on someone else's money to take care of her. Big Pun is not around to kick her ass anymore, and yes, I know the abuse did some psychological damage, but who's kicking her ass now but herself? She was free of an abuser and should have taken time to seek counseling, and think about her future as well as her kids. This is a damn shame that the kids have to go through this. I mean for goodness sakes, the fact that she has 3 kids, and when the father passed, her future and the kids should have been the first thing she thought about. The man beat the sh*t out of her ass. I would have been jumping for joy that his pathetic ass wasn't around to harm me anymore, and would have built a life and future for me and my kids. Don't get me wrong, sadly, it is obvious she needed some counseling after the physical abuse she endured from Big Pun, in order to be able to raise her kids with a sound mind, and provide a future for them, but she has to take some of the blame for her current situation.

Posted Aug 5th 2009 7:00PM by Latifah Muhammad Filed under: Hip-Hop, Say What! Deceased rapper Big Pun's widow and three children are living in a New York homeless shelter. Liza Rios and her children have been forced to relocate to the shelter after losing their home to foreclosure. "We're in a city shelter," Rios said in an interview. "It's been very hard for them [the children] to transition. After Pun passed I didn't receive a lot of money. I received $160,000 from publishing. The house I was paying mortgage [on] was my husband's. He bought the house and it wasn't paid out. The five years I was living there I spent over $120,000 just on mortgage [payments]. Then you [have] the kids, and the food, and the clothes and legal fees...when there's no money coming in, there's just money [going] out." Rios also talked about her physically and emotionally abusive relationship with her late husband. "It's through the grace of God that I've survived," she said. "I never knew what domestic violence was until I was in it and even when I was in it I still didn't know what was going on. I thought it was just me I didn't know that it was happening with so many women." As a member of the Terror Squad rap group Pun was responsible for introducing rapper Fat Joe to the public. According to Rios, she and Joe are not on good terms and have no plans to reconcile. "We haven't been on the best of terms in a while. I'm asking to see proof of royalties and so forth. I have not yet seen anything. Pun has made a lot of money for people and continues to make money for them. Pun doesn't get paid when you hear songs on iTunes [or] ringtones. If Pun's not getting a check, his kids are not getting a check." Pun, born Christopher Rios, died in 2000 from a fatal heart attach. Most famous for his single 'I'm Not A Player,' the rapper weighed almost 700 lbs at the time of his death. [Edited 8/6/09 19:08pm] How come she waited until she was in this predicament to tell her story now? Pun was very overweight, what did she do walk up to him so he could slap her? That fat fucker wouldn't have been able to catch me let alone hit me.... Pun's widow was NOT the Mary Poppins type of wife either, so I can understand why Fat Joe said she probably deserved it. All she had to do was duck and run and she wouldn't have been abused... She didn't manage her coins right! ----- She has been talking about this for years and it looks like Big Pun did not leave many coins for her manage.

The two of them are STRAIGHT up degrading to women, they abused them mentally, physically, took advantage of every situation, and of course the argument is always, "welll why didnt they just leave them". I have NO problem with saying Big Pun was a fat piece of shit, i dont care that he is dead, big fucking deal, it all comes around. The thing that kills me is that dumb fucks like Fat Joe and Pun and others, got cred in the Latin Community, yet another issue i have with this BULLSHIT thing of "pride" that everyone has when there is a parade, but cant walk the talk in their daily lives. It's been what? TEN YEARS since Pun's died, and she hasn't been able to figure anything out in that time? Please. I'll bet she hasn't held even ONE job since he's died except being Pun's wife--a position nobody cares about.
On a sadder note, she doesn't look very healthy in the video. The weight gain looks almost sickly. Her entire family is unhealthy. Sad.

I tried to buy some chicken breast the other day...that meat was crazy expensive like $8 for a whole package. Broccoli...not cheap. I haven't gotten to sauce, seasoning, rice. Simple meal $20!
You think I wouldn't say to myself....McD's dollar menu and feed a whole family for under $10. I easily spend hundreds a month on food for a family of 3. And I am truly at "duck and run" from abuse because dude was obese. He wasn't immobile. It's just wrong, no matter how you slice it. Some of y'all just talking crazy talk today I had heard she did hair dressing or something...she needs to pull it together, move down south, and get those kids working and all. That is a true shame! For any person. have some sympathy and empathy...not because she's a celebrity widow, but because she's down on her luck and no one will help her.

I often hear about New Yorkers moving down south because of high cost of living. Is there really such a huge difference? Is this some new trend among New Yorkers ? And if so, where do they go ? Atlanta,or some place in Florida or Texas ? I´m just curious. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! You will find small markets that sell those lean meats and vegetables at ridculous marketed up prices. In Washington D.C. the S.E. area just recently had a new Safeway open after not having a large chain grocery store for almost 40 years. Yet you will find many poor areas of the cities with overpriced markets, liquer stores and fast food chains. The only real solution is the recent idea of urban gardens.
