TLC appreciation thread

Das Da Way We Like 'Em

Yo it's me Left Eye not about to settle
For anybody wit a thang about me havin' to party
My life's havin' fun, takin' a reason, addin' season
Makin it hes in what is pleasin' cause yo I gots one
I am unordinary the more balls the merry
Not the two hangin' hairy wit dairy airy
Cause to impress me is not to undress me
That's only unless we agree - Ya down with O.P.P.!
And bein' honestly is what I want you to be
You wanna control me you need much authority
Understanding the depths of the 90's women
That is the way that I am livin'

Das da way we like em
Das da way we like em
Das da way we like em
Das da way we like em

What up what up yo, the way that I like 'em
Or better yet let's talk about the way I dislike
The type that's always out to despite
Or what about the ones that's under your feet
Or like to wipe your butt before you're leavin' the dookie seat
But so, take your time and you'll find that it is true
I like the ones - THAAAT
Walk through the parties wit their pants saggin' down
Spend a little time wit me and not wit the crowd
Chillin' in the crib wit da docs
Or maxin' on the couch to a Babyface song, yeah
Understanding the depth of cool women
Unhh 'cause that's the way T-Boz is livin'

Das da way we like em
Das da way we like em
Das da way we like em
Das da way we like em

Yo erri uuhh erri erri...
I like a man with romance in his heart
And the ability to chrk-chrk take on the part
Not the kind who be tippin' and tappin' and slippin' and slappin' 'em
Cause I'll be comin' wit a bat and start smackin' him!
But wait a minute I aint dealin' like that - NO!
I need a man who's gonna venture out at pleasin', yeah dat's me hey
Cause I'm the kind who'll be givin' it right back
But on the serious tip he's gotta come with respect
'Cause that's where I'm at ahh
Understanding the depths of the good women
Yeah that's me 'cause that's the way that Chilli's livinnnnn' evillol

I'm a big fan of most of the first 2 albums, but things were more miss than hit after that. And I've never been a big fan of "Waterfalls"...

.

I loved their first single "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg". I remember going to Sam Goody in the U.S. summer 1992. Wikipedia says "Baby-Baby-Baby" was out in May of that year but I was at the store deciding whether to cop the maxi single of "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg" or go all out and cop the album. I was concerned that the video version was already a remix and wouldn't be the same on the album (lol that remix fuckery messed with me throughout the 90s mad ).
As it turned out, the album was chock full of the flava I was checkin' for.

A little late to the party, Cinnie. lol

FWIW, I prefer the original of "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg" (I remember when it debuted on Video Soul), but I also like this remix that was pretty popular:

Miss this group terribly. It would be interesting if they were still a group and making music today. I purchased everything they pretty much released and I enjoyed attending their concert. I just did. rose

I still pull out their music often and have a TLC listening day, all day.

Left Eye's remix to "Aint Too Proud To Beg".

"My Secret Enemy" is a b-side to the "Red Light Special" single.

I love TLC! mushy They will always be my all-time favorite girl group because they just had that 'It' factor for me. When Left-Eye died, it just wasn't the same. They were awesome! RIP Left-Eye dove

My Top 5 from each album:

"Ooooohhh, On The TLC Tip"

1)'Baby-Baby-Baby'
2)'His Story'
3)'Hat 2 Da Back'
4)'What About Your Friends'
5)'Something You Wanna Know'

"CrazySexyCool"

1)'Red Light Special'
2)'If I Was Your Girlfriend'
3)'Creep'
4)'Let's Do It Again'
5)'Waterfalls'

"Fanmail"

1)'My Life'
2)'No Scrubs' (Left-Eye remix)
3)'I Miss You So Much'
4)'Dear Lie'
5)'Unpretty'

Sorry, but I don't count 'TLC 3-D' because Left-Eye was already gone by that point and you could feel the change in that album. It's good, but it's missing that chemistry for me. sad
