He has a great legacy, don't keep tarnishing it by having songs titled "Forever Mackin'". That's why I threw out the "Baby Makin' Music" album. That destroyed the entire album for me, that and JD screaming on "I Just Wanna Be You". They actually had some great ballads where there was no "macking" lyrics. Odd they weren't saying that "macking" shit in the '70s. Though they did have a "pimp" flair about them clothes-wise. Yeah that was Rudolph and O'Kelly. Back to Ronald. On the latter day Isley albums what pissed me off most of the material didn't even give Ernie a chance to shine on guitar like he did in the 70's and the whole Body Kiss album was basically an R.Kelly album. I'm glad i didn't purchase it and a friend burned it for me. The Eternal album was okay. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis produced some nice tracks on it as well as Raphael Saadiq. I didn't even bother with Baby Makin Music. Ronald Isley was far too gone for my taste by then. I'm afraid to ask but did his wife have his baby. She was supposedly pregnant before he went to prison. You can only see Erine go off when they play live. The last time Erine got 2 do his thing on an album was 1992's "Tracks Of Life" which was also the last time we saw Marvin on bass before he retired.

I'm sure it was either that or continue doing the same shows for the next 10 or 20 years (like Maze). I'm not mad at him, I just won't be buying any more of his music. The man has 2 pay his bills.....I understand that. Not to mention I think he has a young wife and a young child. That will keep a man working and trying to be young. The main difference is that the songs weren't guitar driven and he was reduced to a few bars or put in the background. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Nah the 96'-'03 era was like seven years bad luck lol. It felt like Ronnie only played "Mr Biggs" 2 pay his bills, while the live show was what they really wanted 2 do and what the people really wanted 2 hear....

The only issue I had with Ronnie is that he was cashing his dead brother's royalty checks. Not to mention he was touring and making hit records during that time. He deserved that jail time that the IRS got him for to hopefully get his stuff together. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I loved this song on his last album for some reason. I couldn't believe Justin Timberlake wrote it.
Does anyone know if this was Justin's first solo production job? **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

It was around this time in 1995-96 that Snoop admitted that Charlie was his "uncle".

Not because I'm young, but because I'm a realist. Charlie went from wearing tassles on his jackets singing "Burn Rubber On Me" to singing "Supa Sexy" with T-Pain and Jamie "Where the hell did his talent go" Foxx. This disappoints me greatly. What he views as "modernizing" or "reinventing" himself, I see as a desperate attempt to make young people like him. And trust me, I don't. If the Whispers were on this same foolishness I'd reprimand them as well. I don't see Earth Wind and Fire doing this. It would be different if he weren't about to qualify for Social Security, but he is. Beads in his hair, sunglasses at night. He looks like a joke.
And as far "selling his soul" for this "Hip Hop BS". THIS IS NOT FUCKING HIP HOP! Don't put this wack ass bullshit on us. Sorry to get so emotional over this, but it's not Hip Hop. This is his failure to realize that he's erasing the good part of his legacy. Gap Band is classic, his current status is comical. He looks like a hanger-on. Far too old to be in an entourage, if I may say so myself. Charlie is doing this to himself. The only rapper that utilizes him is Snoop, but he's also been doing so since the 90s. I don't hear him on any Nas songs. He's never been featured on any Rakim songs. Not Hip Hop, just him not trying to fade away. But doing stuff like this, only drags you down. The songs on his second album are a joke. I listened to this album, more times than I wanted, and it never really did it for me. The writing is basic. Who really tried on this one? I just don't feel it. These are words on paper that definitely fail to come to come to life. Scattered, just unorganized, and sometimes very cheesy. He's an old school artist, with modern writers. They will never mesh. Then again, I could be wrong, but this album had fewer hits than misses. Uncle Charlie needs to leave this particular sound alone and go back to his roots. Peace, Hip Hop & Purple Rain. Love is 2 Weak 2 Define, Just What U Mean 2 Me - ADORE
