BOBBY WOMACK APPRECIATION THREAD

Ok so me mum's been flooding my ears with old school this past week. I have to say, Bobby Womack is the shit. Nobody has nuthin on that dude. His raspy gospel voice that mixes R&B with Soul and even a little bit country flavor. I think his song topics are right on even for today. They transcend the typical love you miss you mush and get right into deep issues of want, need, frustration. This brotha was straight preachin'!!
Yes yes, I'm starting bunch of old school artist threads. Look Out!!!! music

this sounds like a country song to me. I love it!!!!

Now that's more like it.

I like his song "Come L'Amore" from his Communication album but I can't seem to find it on YouTube.

Email to a friend | Print Friendly Buzz up!
*Bobby Womack, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Mavis Staples and the Funky Meters will be among the performers at the 30th annual Long Beach Blues Festival, set to take place Saturday and Sunday, September 5 & 6 at Rainbow Lagoon Park, adjacent to the Long Beach Marina, in downtown Long Beach.

The festival is the flagship event and an important revenue generator for KJAZZ 88.1 FM, the #1 full-time jazz and blues radio station, and one of only five remaining, in the country.

Whether you prefer Delta Blues, Chicago Blues, Texas Blues, Blues Rock, or any and all of the compelling combinations, you’ll find something to fill your soul at this amazing, iconic event, celebrating its 30th Anniversary September 5th and 6th, 2009.

Over the past three decades, the Long Beach Blues Festival has not only proven itself to be one of the country's pre-eminent blues festivals, but also one of the longest-lived. Aside from entertaining thousands of blues music fans, the festival also serves as a major fund-raiser for publically-supported radio station KKJZ, located at California State University in Long Beach and known as "America's Jazz and Blues Station."
