Besides, these guys are 2 different types of groups. BJ weren't really known for singing. They just made good songs. Whereas the O'Jays were known for their vocal abilities.

I actually dig BJ vocals and while the O'Jays have a more gospel feel the BJ are still soulful IMO. I tend to lump 70s/80s soul and R&B into one category.

Wrong! Those are great songs but "Get The Funk Out Ma Face" and "Ain't We Funkin' Now" kill anything the O'Jays ever made. The Brothers Johnson was funk and funk beats anything. Even when The O'Jays made an uptempo jam like "I Love Music" or "Put Your Hands Together", it was good, but it wasn't hard like The Brothers Johnson.

The O'Jays could whip The Brothers Johnson's ass with the slow jams, but like I said before, funk beats anything, any time, any place, and anywhere.
