The Jacksons and Vicki Lawrence

I was searching for clips to put in my "Mama's Family" thread over in the General Discussion section and came across the clip of Vicki Lawrence and The Jacksons that I've never seen before.

What album is this song from y'all? I bet I have it in my collection but have overlooked it. Is this from "Goin' Places"? I'm too lazy to go through all those CDs to find it. lol

Tito almost kilt himself with that spinmove at 3:0 and it's from their last album at Motown, Moving Violation. Lot of Funky/Disco cuts Vain.

Thanks. I don't have that one. I have all their stuff they released as The Jacksons but as for The Jackson 5, all I have is the 2 CD Best Of set called "Gold".

Since I know you like the funk, get their last four albums from Motown. They're available as two-fers.

Skywriter/Get It Together
Dancing Machine/Moving Violation

Thanks. Now I have a question that confuses me. When I was putting the tracks from the 2 CD set called "Gold" into my computer. I like to read the booklet in the CD and type the album and year into the slots with each track. What confused me was, when I got around to the song "Dancing Machine", there was an album called "Dancing Machine", but the booklet had the song "Dancing Machine" coming from an entirely different album with a different name.

Dancing Machine was originally on the 1973 album "Get It Together". the 1974 album of the same name started out as a Michael solo LP but evolved into a J5 album. They added some songs and a new mix of Dancing Machine and BAM! the Dancing Machine LP lol

True, there are two different versions of Dancing Machine. The first is on the album Get It Together 73 than on the self-titled album in 74.

Well, I wouldn't say two totally different as far as vocals and music. The version from Get It Together features the opening with the lady talking and the Dancing Machine cut feature no intro, just the song, basically he single version.

So the most famous version of "Dancing Machine" that they play on the radio even to this very day was from "Get It Together"? How does the later version sound? Is it similar?
