Have YOU purchased any albums for these RISING ICONS???

If so, which so called rising icon do you think has the potential to go on to do BIG things, in the music industry?
What songs are you listening to from them that you want us to hear? music

I used to like this song until the radio played it to death!

Keri Hilson has the look and I hear she's a pretty good song writer.
She might have potential to survive...

seems like everyone in the music biz is an icon. I don't know any of those people by their face. I can only assume none of them have did anything worthy of being called a future/rising icon. The real Icons of today would bury these kids if they could come back and perform as they were in their youth. shrug

all the more power to them to do what they do but NO, I haven't purchased any of their albums.

It seems to me that the term 'icon' is being thrown around loosely, especially looking at these singers. before you know it, icon will have lost its meaning entirely, then we will have to con a new term for superstars like MJ and Prince, cause you certainly can't call them icons and call the singers in the pics icons in the same sentence. RISING ICONS MY ASS!!!!

Left to Right...

Wale, Hal Linton, Kid Cudi, Leslie Ryan, Melanie Fiona, The Dream, Keri Hilson, and Chrisette Michele.

Chrisette Michele has already aired on BET Show of rising icons. You can check out when the other artist are going to air.

http://www.bet.com/OnTV/B...1C8698895}

I have NEVER heard of Wale, Hal Linton, or Melanie Fiona...

The music industry is very fickle so I wish them good luck!!!

I take back what I said about not recognizing any of these MFs, but only for Chrisette Michelle. I do have her second album and I love it, just didn't recognize her on this photo.

I have Chrisette's albums but I haven't listened to 'Epiphany' yet boxed ...her first album is awesome though.

I've rented the Dream's album from the library and it's pretty good.

I liked 'Turning Me On' and love 'Energy', by Keri Hilson, but absolutely hate her latest single with Kanye. disbelief I'll be waiting for a copy of her album to return to the library so I can see if it's any good as a whole.

I'm surprised Jazmine Sullivan isn't on that list because her album is really good and her voice is fantastic. mushy

Weird of me, but I always feel compelled to post my age when I make an entry. Here I go:

Sheena (Gangsta Cru) Age 21

Chrisette has a passion for her craft, sometimes her vocals don't convey it, but she seems more into it than the others on this list os "Rising Icons". I hardly view anyone my age as "iconic" or "role model material". When an overwhelming portion of your music is tasteless and based entirely on "sexing the opposite sex" you tend to get used as a coaster. Why are people my age looking to replace real artists with these cheap microwaved a$$holes who desecrate the very thing I love? I cannot for the life of me buy any one of their albums and feel that this is better than the worst album I have bought from Prince. Might sound like I'm hating, but everyone on that list has attempted a cross over or sold out a little except for Chrisette. This saddens me. Time to write something to make myself feel better.

Peace, Hip Hop & Purple Rain.

Totally agree. Time to boycott this brainwashing by the media... And as someone mentioned, Jazmine Sullivan is not on the list (I consider her a truly gifted vocalist)...
