Can WB release any more Madonna Comps or Re-Issues after Celebration?

Considering the 1 CD package and 2 CD special Edition rolleyes, obviously there is still more releases that could happen like a B-Sides, Remixes or even an Anthology. Can WB do this in the future? What about reissues? I am surprised that they stopped with True Blue?

I think they can't do it without her permission, but would she ever consider this? I can't imagine she would simply move on from all of her work.

And yes, this thread is a thinly veiled as my disappointment with the Celebration Package...I feel it could have been bigger, but feels it's being watered down for the masses. I liken this to the Prince 1 CD GH package.

It's a shame that 'Like A Prayer' hasn't been remastered yet disbelief

I'm kinda excited about 'Celebration' but I still wish we could get a multi-disc box set that includes everything.

There are many cool ideas for upcoming Madonna compilations...

A compilation of her greatest remixes.
A compilation of her soundtrack songs.
A compilation of her best ballads (basically,a continuation of 'Something To Remember').
A compilation of her greatest dance tracks.

But I'd rather that they start with reissues of the original albums.

They'd better have the license to release The Virgin, Blonde Ambition & Re-Invention Tours on DVD, and remastered versions of Who's that Girl OST & You Can Dance Cd's...

I would think so. Madonna's first 3 got re-issues.

Wb isn't very smart with their back catalog. They have so much sitting on the shelf, it's absurd! It's not a terrible thing either since they don't seem to exploit their back catalogs with a trillion "20th Century Masters", "Essential (Artist Name Here)", "Gold", sort of collections (although I could be way off).

For example, WB has sitting in their vaults 4 albums by Cher done during the mid to late seventies (one, 'Stars", is considered a classic). The funny thing is that when Cher re-emerged with WB's "Believe", every other label kept putting stuff on the market!

That's one of those albums that could easily be given the "deluxe" treatment, remastered with an entire separate SECOND DISC of alternate mixes, and would be a viable product. Nevermind the iconic imagery from that era that could be pulled into a booklet.

I wouldn't say the same for the first 3 albums that already got remastered. Those are okay, though they could have tacked on different bonus songs. I don't think those projects had enough in them to warrant a second disc.

I would venture to guess this has something to do with their standing in the overall market compared to the other big 4 major labels. (Could be their fault too for not milking their catalog)

Meaning they don't have to do that sort of thing or they can't afford to? I'm confused? I'm also not sure who is left when it comes to the major labels. My brother in law almost convinced me that Sony bought up all of Madonna's songs to include them on "Singstar" (no way Sony owns WB!).
