Takes me back to my High School days, slow-grinding at somebodies House Party, in a steaming hot basement packed with all the cool kids, with the one red light bulb screwed in the ceiling, drinking Thunderbird with Grapefruit Juice (...or Wild Irish Rose, or better yet... The Night Train, for the more adventurous, lol), while sneaking outside to smoke them fat doobies rolled in them screaming hot pink JOB Strawberry flavored rolling papers.

... Ah, The 70's - Don't 'cha just miss 'em?!? touched

a few thoughts....

***"Zoom" is from their 1977 self-titled album, but it should have been the title of this album.

***It should have been a single.

This may probably be my favorite song by The Commodores. The music, the words, the vocals, the vibe, I love it!!!!

I agree with this sentiment. Although I have to say their song "This Is Your Life" from 75 is my all time favorite song by them, "Zoom" is right behind it. The studio version and the live version from Commodores Live is also great. As fantastic as this song is, this and This Is Your life are both underrated, I feel.

In 1976,Motown were planning to release "High On Sunshine" as a single, but they chose "Just To Be Close To You" instead.

One of their best slow jams. You can definately hear the difference between a slow jam like "Zoom" and a slow jam like "Truly". "Zoom" has a sexy "bring a stranger home at 3 a.m. and sleep with them" feel while "Truly" has a "soccer mom listening to this song in a mini van" feel to it. lol

Ditto, this was always one of my favorite Commodore songs, from one of my favorite musical eras.

confused I thought Zoom was Fat Larry's Band. Or is that another song with the same title. (Sorry can't click on streaming media at work)

They are two completely songs with completely different lyrics and melodies but have the same title. The Commodores released their "Zoom" in the 70s and Fat Larry's Band released their "Zoom" in 1982.
