They pretty much started phasing her out 2 seasons ago. This last season, they really concentrated on Kara's comments and tended to cut Paula short.

The show is OVER anyway, Simon already said that when the deal is up, which is 2 years away, he is not bringing it back.

It's probably more like who has he f-ed. You know, it's rumored that Merv Griffin turned him out and helped to make him a star. Before he hooked up with him, he did small-town radio and a few reality/dating shows (Blind Date).

Exactly merv was his man.ryan is slimmy.hope paula writes a tell all.

Paula Abdul is a hot mess that will be missed. The dynamic has been wrecked. I saw this coming after they added Kara. Between losing Paula, and contestants exposing the fact that the show is fixed and the "slave contracts" they must sign, and the buzz that Simon may leave, I give American Idol two to three years before it's canceled.

She was my favorite. I have to admit it would be weird as hell if Ryan Seacrest weren't hosting. I mean... imagine it for a sec. That's why he got the big pay increase.

I never watched the show alot, but I was always puzzled why Paula was on it, she can't sing for shit. Now if she was a judge on "So You Think You Can Dance" I'd understand that, dancing is more her thing.

Well maybe Nigel will extend her guest spots on the show as a judge as he offered
before....

honestly I would hope Idol will fizzle out soon ...Adam Lambert was the last interesting contestant. I think enough is enough with picking these singers.
let the focus go back to artists working hard again...building their careers.

I watch the show mostly because my girlfriend likes it, but it is entertaining.
Paula has always been a major concern and distraction. She seems like a nice lady, but I am certain she is high on something while taping the show, which is not cool. I'm sure like me and a lot of folks, the producers can almost picture another sleazy TMZ headline about a drug induced tragedy in her future, nobody wants to be associated with that.
She can deny it, like MJ denied it, but its blatantly obvious the chick needs help.

Yes ! I also agree with your post , my feeling one people start leaving it's time to end it and wrap it up ! American Idol was the Star Searchh of the Millennium ... it begins to get silly when half shows drag showing the awful auditions ( some are funny ) but it's time to end.

they already brought in here replacement with Kara ... they just wanted to offer Paula the lowest amount of money to keep her around. Paula added the crazy charm to the show and her stage/professional experience outweighs Kara's Imo.

I agree with that for sure. Kara is only a songwriter and aspiring singer. I think she took the gig to jump-start her career.

Only a songwriter? The woman has written dozens of songs for every major label and has had her hands in records that have hit every chart of every catagory for the last ten years. As a songwriter and producer she's arguably one of the most powerful female songwriters in the industry behind Diane Warren and Denise Rich.
Kara's career doesn't need jump starting. She's been a respected songwriter and producer for at least a decade. Earlier in her career she was having a hit here or there as a singer in Europe, but otherwise that girl has been in the trenches for a loooong time in New York and LA as a behind the scenes player and hit maker. She's the one labels call when they want results.

I've never even watched this show, but I'm sure both ladies brought different perspectives to their judging.

I was intrigued by your post, so I looked up her songwriting credits. I've heard very few of her songs and this is the only one I'd say is any good:

Your post details Kara's achievements and with what you posted wouldn't then Kara be more of use in writing songs for the contestants after they win ,or lose ? I just think Paula's antics have put her strong knowledge of what it takes to perform on stage which is what I think was to American Idols benefit.
Now, if it's true about other circumstances behind the scenes which we don't know about maybe friction with the production/staff etc then they were already
working on pushing Paula off the show to begin with.

the replacement was already there.

For the record I don't like most of what anybody is writing for the pop charts, so what's best and what's worst in pop is a relative concept that's not of interest to me, and I can't argue with you there lol . What I'm speaking to more directly is that this is a young woman who can and has had the Clive Davis's and Tommy Matollas on speed dial for years and works consistently and dependably as a workhouse songwriter, modeling her career a bit like some of the Brill building women of the 60's. Throwaway 2 minute hits? Maybe. But those throwaways pay off well financially, and at least she's been able to maintain her work reputation within at least 2 of "The Big Four" for years. While I agree that American Idol will make her more familiar to the public at large (and obviously pad her pockets), I think it's a little naive to label her as an upstart with no experience (or dough in the bank).

So anyways, how you doin'??? Ain't seen you around these parts for a minute, I don't think. Where ya been? hmmm

I know, but people are trying to make it seem like she has all of these hits under her belt, when she only has a few hits, but a lot of album tracks.

After looking over her songwriting credits, she must be the female Ne-Yo. She co-writes everything with writing partners.

from TMZ....its not over.

>>>Well-placed sources at "Idol" tell us Paula may indeed reach an agreement with the show. It's all about money, and a last-minute agreement would create a good buzz for season 9.

Auditions will begin tomorrow -- without Paula.

"Idol" insiders say it's definitely not over, but a source very close to Paula says "If 'Idol' wants her back it's news to her."

In that case -- welcome to Hollywood, Paula.<<<<<

Victoria Beckham, may replace Paula Abdul on AI

TV CHIEFS want Victoria Beckham to replace Paula Abdul on American Idol.

Billionaire show producer Simon Fuller, who managed the Spice Girls, is in talks to hire Posh, 35, as a judge.

It comes after Paula, 47, yesterday revealed on her Twitter web page that she was quitting America's biggest show - despite auditions starting today.
A source said: "Paula's absence leaves a big gap on the judging panel. At least 25 million viewers tune in every week.
"It needs a big star. Simon Cowell and Victoria have always got on. It would be an incredible coup to get Posh. She was in one of the biggest girl groups in history so she knows what she is talking about. Simon Fuller is now speaking to her." [b]
