My lawd, who made this tragedy of a list...a class of 8th graders? They need to just mail Britney and Beyonce their awards and save the money of setting this show up. Prince Rogers Nelson

Best Male Video:
- Jay-Z "D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)" WTF? Nothing even happens in this video! Hell, the POINT of the video/song is that it's a non music video flashy type affair, he's trying to say "quit with the image, get back to the music", he blows up bling and a television for gods sake! MTV are quite honestly retarded if they can't see how anti-MTV that video and song is. I'm convinced it's a bunch of circus monkeys running the show. And Eminem's "We Made You"? Are they serious? It's a complete rehash of Just Lose It which was a complete rehash of Without Me which was a complete rehash of The Real Slim Shady which was a complete rehash of My Name Is. PATHETIC. Single Ladies could have a best dancing nod, but special effects? For some shitty, completely noticeable editing? LOL. Best Female Video: - Katy Perry "Hot n Cold" - Beyoncé "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" - Kelly Clarkson "My Life Would Suck Without You" - Lady Gaga "Poker Face" - P!nk "So What" - Taylor Swift "You Belong With Me" Pink should win this. Oh, and LOL at Britney not getting Best Female. If she wins Best Video it's technically the best female video any way, dumbasses. Video of The Year: - Eminem "We Made You" - Beyonce "Single Ladies" - Lady Gaga "Poker Face" - Kanye West "Love Lockdown" - Britney Spears "Womanizer" I'll go with Kanye or Lady for being the only mildly creative videos. Best New Artist: - 3Oh!3 "Don't Trust Me" - Asher Roth "I Love College" - Drake "Best I Ever Had" - Kid Cudi "Day N' Nite" - Lady Gaga "Poker Face" If Don't Trust Me wins I'll throw my TV out the window. Never seen Asher or Drakes. Kid Cudi is good but won't beat Gaga. Best Hip-Hop Video: - Asher Roth "I Love College" - Eminem "We Made You" - Flo Rida "Right Round" - Jay-Z "D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)" - Kanye West "Love Lockdown" Kanye again. Best POP Video: - Britney Spears "Womanizer" - Beyoncé "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" - Cobra Starship "Good Girls Go Bad (Featuring Leighton Meester)" - Lady Gaga "Poker Face" - Wisin & Yandel "Abusadora" Uh, none of these? I'll say Pokerface but Womanizer will probably win. Best Rock Video: - Coldplay "Viva La Vida" - Fall Out Boy "I Don't Care" - Green Day "21 Guns" - Kings of Leon "Use Somebody" - Paramore "Decode" Finally, a decent video is nominated. Go Coldplay! Breakthrough Video: - Anjulie "Boom" - Bat For Lashes "Daniel" - Chairlift "Evident Utensil" - Cold War Kids "I've Seen Enough" - Death Cab for Cutie "Grapevine Fires" - Gnarls Barkley "Who's Gonna Save My Soul" - Major Lazer "Hold The Line" - Matt And Kim "Lessons Learned" - Passion Pit "The Reeling" - Yeah Yeah Yeahs "Heads Will Roll" Gnarls Barkley for Breakthrough Video? What? Death Cab? Okay, what does Breakthrough mean? Best Video (That Should Have Won A Moonman): - Beastie Boys "Sabotage" - Björk "Human Behaviour" - David Lee Roth "California Girls" - Dr. Dre "Nuthin' But A 'G' Thang" - Foo Fighters "Everlong" - George Michae l"Freedom" - OK Go "Here It Goes Again" - Radiohead "Karma Police" - Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers "Into the Great Wide Open" - U2 "Where The Streets Have No Name" LMAO are they serious? "Best video we ignored"? What next? "Worst VMAs"? IMO, I cannot believe Freedom didn't win or Here It Goes Again so I'll go with them. Best Art Direction: - Beyoncé "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" - Britney Spears "Circus" - Coldplay "Viva La Vida" - Gnarls Barkley "Who's Gonna Save My Soul" - Lady Gaga "Paparazzi" Coldplay again but Gaga will probably win and Circus was great, too. Best Choreography: - A.R. Rahman & Pussycat Dolls f/ Nicole Scherzinger "Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)" - Beyoncé "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" - Britney Spears "Circus" - Ciara f/ Justin Timberlake "Love Sex Magic" - Kristinia DeBarge "Goodbye" Ugh. I'll go with PCD or Britney since they're the only ones with real, decent choreography. Best Cinematography: - Coldplay "Viva La Vida" - Beyoncé "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" - Britney Spears "Circus" - Green Day "21 Guns" - Lady Gaga "Paparazzi" Coldplay or Britney. Best Direction: - Cobra Starship "Good Girls Go Bad (Featuring Leighton Meester)" - Beyoncé "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" - Britney Spears "Circus" - Green Day "21 Guns" - Lady Gaga "Paparazzi" Circus. Best Editing: - Coldplay "Viva La Vida" - Beyoncé "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" - Britney Spears "Circus" - Miley Cyrus "7 Things" - Lady Gaga "Paparazzi" Fuck, these aren't the only videos that came out this year!!! Best Special Effects: - Lady Gaga "Paparazzi" - Eminem "We Made You" - Beyoncé "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" - Gnarls Barkley "Who's Gonna Save My Soul" - Kanye West f/ Mr. Hudson"Paranoid" Where's Mims Move If U Wanna? Idiots. I'll go with Single Ladies because that'll be hilarious listening to Beyonce talking about how complicated it was to run up a wall and film the dance more than once [Edited 8/4/09 22:04pm]

I only heard it once I listened to it tonight for the first time in probably a year after seeing all those people on the Madonna sticky saying how much they LOVED LOVED LOVED it. I remember enjoying it a lot at the time, but it wearing thing pretty quickly and the number of really irritating songs being higher than any of her other albums. It actually wasn't a bad listen. But definitely skip Candy Shop, 4 Minutes, Miles Away, Spanish Lesson and Devil Wouldn't Recognize You and it's pretty great! (unfortunately, that's a 3rd of the album )

(unfortunately, that's a 3rd of the album ) It's an album that is just too much with the ghey for me, packaged for the ghey, and consumed by the overwhelmingly ghey. Souless, lifeless, and overly stylized. All of Madonna's albums tend to be stylized, but albums like Madonna, Like a Virgin, True Blue, Like A Prayer, and Ray of Light are great because she actually puts some heart into those. I remember playing Like A Prayer and Ray of Light in my car for weeks before boring of them. I've listened to her last 3 albums about 1 time each I do like her new generic sounding single for that greatest hits package though, "Celebrate" or whatever. It's soulless as Hard Candy, but it reminds me of Cindy Lauper's "Night Life" single, which I mildly liked. But I guess my original point (though I mistakenly believed Hard Candy was recent ) was even when Madonna's albums sucks, they're still on par with the garbage that's on radio nowadays anyways.

I'm surprised Pink didn't get more nominations.
What the hell at the random 6 noms in Best Female, with no Britney even with the extra slot. MTV, if you're gonna whore Gaga at least nominate the right video. Lovegame > Pokerface and Paparazzi Since when has Beyonce been Pop? Why couldn't they bring back Best R&B like they did the technical categories? I thought Miley's 7 Things was nominated last year. How is it there again this year? Um, what special effects in Single Ladies? Are you fuckin serious? Who in the world is Wisin & Yandel? [Edited 8/4/09 22:36pm]

nope they have invited Russell Brand back to host it again even after he stood on stage last year and said.... "Please elect Barack Obama on behalf of the world," he said. But I know America to be a forward thinking country right cos otherwise would you let that retarded cowboy be president for 8 years. I just glanced through that list and can say that I think a lot of these videos are boring and uncreative.
Why is Beyonce's Single Ladies nominated so many times? I know the dance became a phenomenon, but come on, "If I Were A Boy" and "Halo" were better videos. They actually told a story. Timmy, you are right, Matthew bought the special effects nomination. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-
