If you bought the stereo set and wanted to torrent the mono's ok I guess. If you wanted to compare the 2 sets before buying ok, if you wanted to hear it early ok.....

Most who believe it is ok to pirate music say ok I will see them live, that's where today's artists make their cash$, but you can't do that here.

Trying to decide between buying the mono and the stereo is killing me... no way I can justify buying both sets but I don't know which to go with.

BB, maybe I can help.. If you are huge fan who really likes outtakes and can hear subtle diff's go with the mono set. This is what the beatles approved and are the original mixes better or not, it's their vision of what it should sound like.

You can supplement the picks with your fav stereo releases and the 3 missing ones from the set if you like.

To my ears on a good system at home, the stereo is about a 10% min to 20% best improvement over the 87 cd's. They really are not altered too much. They still used the same master tapes from the 87 releases. This is not a remix like Love was. I feel the engineers did a good job and did just enough to help it.

The mono mixes on white and pepper sound to me more interesting. The rest I have not a/b.

Greater care and time went into the mono restoration and again it was what the beatles heard in the playback room at Abbey.

I bought white, abbey, let it, revolver, and pepper in stereo, and the box set in mono.

Pick your fav disc and start there. If the stereo gives you chills then all good.

Thanks for the posts and the link.

I think I'm going to get the mono version for now, and then decide later on (maybe) buying the stereo box set too, or just getting a couple of the albums in stereo.

I have the CDs, only the stereo version, and they are A M A Z I N G!

You can hear John coughing, in If I Fell at one point Paul's voice breaks a bit, which I never realized in the LP mono version from 1964!

Stereo is the only thing you should buy!!

I went back to the Best Buy today where I bought my remastered CDs on Wednesday and the entire Beatles section was cleaned out. There was maybe one remastered White Album left in the new releases area. Everything else--gone.

The sound, the packaging, the quality and attention to detail - beautiful.

Altho I like White Album in mono.. it's just as crucial to have this in stereo remaster.
