Pioneering bassist James Jamerson to get inducted to Fender Guitar Hall of Fame From Soulful-Detroit.com:
On Friday August 7th, Fender will induct legendary Motown bassist,James Jamerson at it's annual Hall of Fame ceremony.
Jamerson (1936-1983)transformed the role of electric bass in popular music. He was the top session bassist for Detroit's Motown Records from the late 1950s to the early 1970s, and his impeccable and infectious bass guitar work underpinned more hit records than that of perhaps any other bassist in history. His influence of all eras and styles is incalculable, and he is universally regarded as one of the instrument's finest players. IT'S ABOUT DARN TIME ! (courtesy of Fender News) | |

This is a composite picture of James Jamerson and his 2nd son Joey. The Jamerson photo was from 1979 and Jamerson was 43 years old. Joey is 43 now (this picture was taken after the Jamerson Tribute in Charleston September 18th an 19th, 2003). The picture was taken by Anthony McKnight when Joey Jamerson asked if he could pick Anthony's bass up. When Anthony looked at him with the bass he got his camera and took the picture. It was not posed to match the picture of James Jamerson. http://www.bassland.net/jamerson.html =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Interesting coincidence. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn.
