Al B. Sure! New Album: Honey I'm Home Has anyone listened to this yet? From the samples i've listened to, the songs don't even sound like him, but maybe it is him singing??? I dunno. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

There's a thread or 2 floating around here on this album. I think it's ok. Better than Maxwell's to me. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Hadn't gotten around to listening to Max's album... what didn't you like about it? It's hard to put my finger on why I didn't care for Maxwell's album. It's pretty dark. I like a few of the songs, but as an album, it doesn't sit well with me. It was not worth the long ass wait, to me. You should check out the Maxwell thread that's a sticky. I have been called a Maxwell hater over there for not caring for the album. I feel if I spent damn-near $40 for the vinyl and 2 cds, I have the right to complain about it. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

I thought he died (literally) several years ago?
Oh well, I'm pleased he's still around for his family, unless he's a bit of a knob. [Edited 7/31/09 15:08pm]

You don't like the new Maxwell album because it doesn't sound like UHS, Embrya or Now. Artists mature and change over the years. Back to Al B.Sure. I never was a big fan of his to buy an album, but I did get his "Best Of" that Rhino put out a few years back.

I'm finding that this is the major reason for most orgers who don't care for Maxi's album. I love it, I don't think of it as a dark album, but for those who think it is, i think it's a good "dark" album. It's not suppose to sound like a carbon copy of his past work anyway, new projects should be just that, new. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Al B. Sure not buying that, sorry. YES! I SAID IT!
[You know how long I been on ya? Since Prince was on Apollonia.] R.I.P Michael! Sad, the only time he was in peace, was when he wasn't alive.

Did you listen to it online? It's a pretty good album. It's a slow jams album, though. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Oooh, but I gotta bring it back to Maxi for just a sec: the more I'm listening to it the more I like it. Even though that song "Bad Habits" make me wanna punch him in the face for some reason .But I still lubs him. I've been listening to it on my laptop, but with recording studio grade headphones, and there's so many layers and textures to what's happening in the music, and the horn arrangements on that cd is SICK. I think once we become more familiar with new material he is going to kill it live on tour. I really hope I get to see him

Chile, no. A couple months back he was on the Tom Joyner Morning Show to premier some of the material on the show's "In Studio Jam". It was a steaming, hot, boiling mess. I hate to say it, but him and those background singers sounded cheap as hell. No other adjective to describe that kind of vocal travesty but cheap. It was sad, Girl.
